while action and reaction do suggest that he will experience recoil, it will be expressed in momentum equal to the momentum imparted to the projectile he is firing, or the momentum of the laser he is generating. This will also not be experienced solely on his arms and back unless they are EZtoTear perforated body parts which i think we can safely assume they are not, but will be experienced over all attatched body parts.

Actually it’s Bio Fusion Gun. It is supposed to fire cannonball sized orbs of pure plasma. Definately my favourite Doom weapon of all time.
