Automatic rifle 3 (AG-3) is the license-produced Norwegian version of the Heckler & Koch G3 assault rifles. The caliber is 7.62 × 51 mm NATO, a standard-caliber within NATO. With the retractable butt called weapon AG-3 F1, and an upgraded version in 2007 called the AG-3 F2. The current production model known as the HK G-93.
The AG-3 was developed as West Germany needed a new device weapons early in the 1950s, and the weapon was in use from 1959. AG-3 was introduced in the Norwegian Armed Forces in the late 1960′s, and was a slightly modified G3 produced by Kongsberg Weapons Factory. The price the Norwegian military pay per. weapons provided to 6 340, – 1996-million [1]. AG-3 is out of service for the benefit of Heckler & Koch HK416.
