dude musta been really bored…
Or really dedicated. I’d like to interview the guy and ask him what message he was trying to convey, what emotion he was trying to illicit, what inspired him to make it, how long it took, and where he got the materials.
That’s some seriously impressive sculpture.
I interviewed this guy when I was a news anchor for a TV station in Santa Rosa!! HE’S NOT A METH HEAD! He’s a VERY nice guy who works at a grocery store. He lives in Rohnert Park, CA. This sculpture is a representation of San Francisco and has minature a Golden Gate Bridge, China Town, and other landmarks. He drops ping pong balls in it and they make parts of the sculpture move. He’s contracted with Ripley’s to either give it to them or loan it to them. That’s one of his GIANT harlequin great danes in the pic with him, he has like 5 of them.
The funniest part is I wasn’t even at his house to talk to him about this sculpture, he was just so stoked on in he took me inside to show it to me. I think I saw this thing…. It took a long time to make, but I don’t remember how long. It might have been 3,000 hours or something along the lines of that. When you put a ping pong ball in the top, it rolls by all the historic sites depicted there.
probably took months or years to make, but i could destroy it within seconds.
My thoughts exactly. I kinda wish someone would ring the doorbell and Fido would jump up wagging his tail. Bye bye. I’m a bit cynical though.
