Hmm, good thing the barrel is rusted out on the inside.

    • FutonLife says:

It isn’t rust, the inner most portion of the barrel’s metal is dyed red-ish a few mm’s in so they can gauge the amount of wear on the barrel, they don’t do it anymore, it is an old school method. There is some useless information for you.

    • ronny says:

thats not rust. thats the powder and waste from the missle

      • exzipperhead says:

No it’s not. Read the above comments before posting. The Leopard 1 doesn’t fire a missile through it’s main gun. It’s rust, trust me on this. Also you miss spelled ‘missile’. Point to note: Russian tanks are capable of firing a missile out of their main guns.

  2. Zach Nielsen says:

I thought after our bet the other day you would appreciate this.

  3. camaraman77 says:

Not true in the middle east its an rpg

  4. warhorse says:

I think it’s a Leopard I, made in West Germany and used by a number of armies, including West Germany, Netherlands, and Canada.

    • FutonLife says:

Yeah I think your right, definitely looks like the one in this picture:

      • FutonLife says:

In fact I just realized It is the EXACT SAME ONE just from a different angle, the building in the background is the exact same, that’s funny.
This is the Worthington Tank Museum in Ontario, Canada. Good Call warhorse

      • KittenHallow says:

It’s the same tank, different angle. :)
        Proof:
Look at the building in the background. See the edge extending out about halfway up the side? Look at the wiki pic. Same building.
The sidewalk just confirms it :)

    • Landsknecht says:

Not a Leopard. A Leopard is armed with a 120mm Reinmetal gun that is smooth bore. Not rifled.

      • The Unforlorn says:

A smooth bore tank? Really? You’re going to lock that in, are you?

      • exzipperhead says:

Umm no, the Leopard 2 has a 120mm smooth bore gun made by Reinmetal, the same gun that is on the M1A1 Abrams tank. The Leopard 1 pictured here at the tank museum in C.F.B. Borden Ontario Canada has a 105mm rifled main gun. Again, I served on these vehicles for 15 years in the Canadian Armed Forces.

      • PerspectiveS says:

A lesson to be learned: don’t try to argue with someone who has served the army for 15 years.

  5. Bob says:

Most definately rust, and yes its Canadian, and its sitting on the lawn across from me right now.

  6. Cpt FuzzyBeard says:

why does a tank need rearview mirrors, if you drive a tank people should know to get out of the way of a tank thats driving forward let alone backwards

    • Eh says:

It’s a Canadian tank. If you don’t realize you hit the car and flattened it, you can see the wreckage in the mirror and say sorry. Simple as that.

    • exzipperhead says:

Actually its so you can drive them on civilian roads.

  7. Chairman WAO says:

Landsknecht – Nope, that’s a Leopard 1. You’re thinking of the Leopard 2 – bigger, more powerful with 120 mm smoothbore (German design, also used on the M1A1 onwards, the Merkava 3 onwards). That’s the barrel of the British Royal Ordance L7 105mm which was used on a number of western tanks in the 60s and 70s such as the Merkava 1 and 2, the M60 Patton, the original M1 Abrams and later versions of the Centurion.

    Tank geek, I am.

    • exzipperhead says:

The Merkava mk3-4 use a 120mm smooth bore of Israeli design not the German Reinmetal gun. Aside from researching it a way to tell is by looking at the fume extractor on the Merkava. It has sharp edges while the Reinmetal design has a much more curved appearance at both ends.

  8. Karen says:

    @everyone:

SHUT UP AND RESPECT THE F@#%ING TANK!!!

  9. stercrazy says:

    i agree with karen

  10. Stefan says:

Its weird to me, because i thought that even the old leopard tanks had the smoothbore gun. Guess not. Nice pic, great tank even though its old now.

  11. koala says:

    OMG a tank!!!

  12. Chris Field says:

Rear view mirrors? Must be a French tank. That’s how they can see where they’re going.

    • The Hurocrat says:

No, French tanks are driven forward just like any other tank. They’re also far more manoeuvrable–they can turn on a dime to bug out–and the gun points off the back end instead of the front because that’s the end that’s going to be facing the enemy.

  13. Pssh, I’ve seen bigger. Hell, I gotta bigger one than that….

  14. So funny says:

That is so f**king funny! My friend Marcus showed this to me.

  15. Sunda says:

  20. The Real rb0217700 says:

its obvious the Confederate Stonewall SJ89-A Class tanks are far superior to any tank.
