Well considering the amount of teenage whores getting knocked up nowadays, the assumptions are understandable.
Having just had a baby three weeks ago all I can say is…wtf? I couldn’t wait to hold my little one. I guess I’m weird in that I care about my child, but I just can’t wrap my head around this. Well, I can, but I just can’t relate. It’s so sad.

i had a daughter last friday and the only thing i had in my hand was a camera and my girlfriends hand. i cant imagine someone doing this..

The ONLY way this would be acceptable would be if she were communicating with her active duty husband who is overseas or something and it was the only way he could be there for the birth. I know a lot of military couples who had to experience it this way.

No. I was thinking the same thing, I was just going with the “Priorities” theme here for the LOLs.
My sister did that when she had my niece. She held the baby first while our mom took a couple pictures, then handed my niece to mom while she took some pictures. The phones were in “Flight Mode” and could not transmit or receive per hospital rules. But they were allowed to use the phones to take pics.
So, it’s actually unlikely that this picture is what it kinda looks like, and what the poster assumes.
You’re probably right but then if it was me I would have held the baby and had the nurse take the picture.
Unless, of course, the look on her face is her checking the nurse’s photography work.

I understand if you’re psyched about your new baby and you wanna take pictures and like send them or upload them. That’s great. But take the pictures and save the sending/uploading for later, when you get home and put them to sleep. Right after your kid’s born? What they need is some hugging love.

Usually, having witnesses a live birth, the mother is a bit too worn out to manage taking pictures on cell phones, and just want to hold their kid and rest, but not everyone is like that. Some women take little time to give birth and are still energetic enough to want to leave the hospital right away. I do think, though, that taking pictures could have waited until she was at home, or at least dressed properly, instead of whipping out the cell phone when her vajay is still exposed and birthing a placenta.

I know this girl and she loves her daughter, She was taking a f***ing picture of her so get over it and grow up if you are really that bored that you need to make fun of someone else instead of having a life for your selves then maybe you guys are the ones that shouldn’t be able to procreate. And obviously none of you have any sense at all. I have 4 children myself and All I wanted to do was hold my children when they were born and take as many pictures as I could because I wanted them to see the pictures when they were grown, not everyone can afford a damn camera and are therefore forced to use their phone as their camera. So why don’t all you people grow up and get a life and start acting more mature!

Yes I do. Don’t try to stick up for a mother who’d rather take a picture of her newborn and a nurse as opposed to getting the nurse to take a picture of her and her newborn.
If you can not afford a camera, how in the hell do you think you could afford to raise a child?
I do not know her circumstances, however I know people that are about to loose there homes, can’t afford to fix there cars so they are bumming rides to work, have stupid expensive cell phone plans, and trying to have there 2nd or 3rd baby. Some people really need to get there priorities straight.

Umm… exactly how do we know this photo was taken just after the baby was born? And not 3 days later when the mother finally came down off cloud nine and let go of her child for long enough to take photos of it?

1. Even if the father’s oversea’s she could have handed the phone to a nurse and held the baby.
2. Cell’s are actually supposed to be turned OFF in emergency and delivery rooms.
3. That all being said; this picture was probably snaped as she was scrolling through her options to take a picture; she probably actually had already held the baby. You can see the other nurse (or doctor) *cough* sewing her up and the baby is all smooshy and clean.
They don’t just pop out that way; and when I first held my daughter, she wasn’t the cleanest baby around. XD
If I ever get married and my wife does that when we have a baby, I’d take her phone and drop it where they put all the used needles.
You can tell it’s right after the birth because the arm that’s in the left side of the pic (probably dad’s) still has the O.R. gown on. When my kids were born they didn’t do that but some places do have the dad wear the gown.
I’m a nurse and people do all kinds of crazy stuff when their kids are born.
Sure it’s made fun of out of context, but hey that’s what we do here, right? All in good fun.
So that’s how life comes out of no life!
