  3. G. James says:

There’s something funny in the state of Denmark.

  4. Jon says:

Perhaps that explains Denmark’s high ranking in the “Satisfaction with Life Index”

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satisfaction_with_Life_Index

  5. ZaneDK says:

I’ve been there. It’s not funny at all.

  6. Kristian says:

Haha, I’ve never thought of it before :P

  7. Pastry says:

I live in Denmark, and there’s no ROFLland or LMAOland.. I’m sorry :/

  8. biggles1 says:

we must found ROFLland and LMAOland!!!

    • General Failure aka. Cthulhu says:

I will run for Minister of State (danish version of Prime Minister or President) and I will personally oversee the construction of 2 new islands: ROFLand and LMAOland!!! A vote for me is a vote for lolcats!

  9. Natasha says:

    Actually, it’s not spelled “Middlefart” – it’s Middelfart ;)
I live here too, and although the weather’s rather bleary most of the time, and I don’t live on Lolland, I LOL a lot :D

Btw, we’ve got something called “slutspurt” and “fartkontrol” too ;)

(Which means final sale and speed control, respectively)

    • Dynamism says:

      Natasha:
Slutspurt means Final Sprint, and as such has NOTHING to do with sales…
But of course, if you do no sports or running, and only do shopping, I can see how you would think so…

      • Natasha says:

Ah, well, sorry, it has two meanings, then. One official and one unofficial, could we at least agree on that? Because it IS used as a sales campaign or whatever.

        My bad.

      • TheQ says:

Maybe the danes are the best to say what danish words mean….

But youre right. It CAN mean that. It is normally used when the sales are ending, or entering the last days. Then you will have to do a Final Sprint to make the sale in time..

  10. Hest says:

Whoa subnus you double fail. You clearly missed the Shakespeare reference buddy :S

  11. Bjarke93DK says:

I live in DK, and i’ve never thought about it before, but yeh we danes like to laugh alot :D I know i did when i saw this ! :D And the danish language have some very very funny names when pronounced in english :P

  12. me says:

denmark – the happiest place in the world. I think it must be the Carlsberg, you know, probably the best beer in the world!

  13. DeeHawk says:

Ironically, LOLland is one of the least fun places in Denmark. I’ve lived there for 18 years, but I’ve luckily escaped :)

  14. MaiName says:

When I first observed it, I thought it was a typographical error. I think I’m a sesquipedalian (an individiual whom enjoys the use of long words).BD

  15. Steffen says:

hahahahahah I live in denmark, never thought of that :D
    AWESOME :D

  16. Lollstein says:

Denmark is the country where the lifts says “I fart” when in use.

    • Lollstein says:

… Who could ever forget the city of Middelfart? (pronounced Middle fart). Oh, the joy of the Danish… – Ain’t that something to eat?

      • Blackpuppy says:

Who in the name of god calls it “Middle fart”?

You, my dear sir, failed at being funny AND informative at the same time.

  17. tinripp says:

heh heh lolland, other than that its the most boring country i ever had the misfortune to visit

  18. TheKaas says:

We danes seem to be very loud about our nationality, when we are mentioned in popular media, probably because of our small sizem, and relatively little influence in global politics and such.

    IM A DANE!!!1!!!!11 WE ARE HAPPY!!!111!

  19. TheQ says:

    Another dane inbound!

We’ve also got Falster. I bet that he some kind of liar somewhere…..

  20. coinkidensssse!! :D says:

haha, just today our sub in science was saying how surveys show that denmark is the world’s happiest country!! :D

  21. Steven says:

When going through Danmark I saw that on the map too… fact is “lolland” isn’t such a happy place… ah well it sounds nice. :)

  22. cicle says:

  23. Simon says:

Haha, lived there in all the 17 years of my life and never thought of it XD

  24. Mike says:

It’s a really nice relaxing place though :D

  25. Alice says:

Lolland IS fun, especially the names of some villages. Was there last summer. But Hørmested is quite funny too (translated: Stinky-place).
Gotta love Denmark and the Danish language.
Denmark is said to be the happiest country in the world. I’ll tell ya’, it is for me!

  26. bløh.. says:

Never noticed that many lol cats or anything though :/

  30. Danish says:

i live in Denmark so just LOL

  31. Kasper says:

Actually, Lolland is one of Denmark’s most boring places ever. Also, it doesn’t mean “Laughing Out Loud-land”. That’s just the result of someone who didn’t have an English map. Furthermore, LOL doesn’t mean “Laughing Out Loud” anymore. It’s come to mean “I have nothing more interesting to add to this conversation”.

  32. cmgg says:

    FIRST!!!!1!!1!!1!11
    Huh?
    !!!
    SNAKE!!!!!!!!

    • Karina says:

Guys….I have a group on facebook….check it out;p It´s called: No!!! Denmark is not a part of Sweden and neither is Bornholm!! ;) Haha

      • David says:

Sweden can have Bornholm though. Bornholm is kinda Denmarks retarded sibling.

        • General Failure aka. Cthulhu says:

hej now, be nice! they might hear you! and im not going to stand an arguement with someone from Bornholm with a straight face! they sing when they talk…

        • The Swedish chef says:

We don’t want your country, we just want your hot chicks and your beer, apart from that, keep what you got there

  33. Anna says:

I’ve come to think of something…
    In danish, ‘chef’ is ‘Kok’
And what you call ‘Danish Pastry’ we call ‘wiener brød (bread)’
… We really do suck don’t we?

    Wiener and kok…

  34. Failure says:

you all fail.. LOLland isnt really funny for a name. Middlefart is.

    • Rage says:

About 20 other people have already said that.
      And it’s spelled “middelfart”

      I’m sorry, Who failed again?

  35. Doomperson says:

All I know is that we have Tarm and Lem. And in between we have Denmarks perinium, also known as Skjern.

You guys figure out what Tarm and Lem means. Hint – Lem can be more than 1 thing, though in this context it’s pretty easy to guess which one of the translations I mean.

  36. 2legit2quit says:

The real fail in these comments happened when the next guy presumed to know more than the guy before him.

Unfortunately this trend, this conga line of fail, continues on to the very end of the thread.

  37. 42YellowClocks says:

    Oh well..Never thought of that..

Hvad sker der for at alle begynder at diskutere latterlige danske ord som Middel fart?

  38. Bump says:

In the western part of northern Jutland lies Kællingdalen (The bitc* Valley)
