There’s something funny in the state of Denmark.
Denmark is not a state it is a country
The original meaning of state is, in fact, what you mean by a country. Hence the phrase, “nation state”, “united states”, “department of state”, etc.
“united states” is not referring to the country as a whole, but to the actually states that make it up, silly goose. on a related note…i thought we were all required to read shakespeare in high school…

“state” means a division of land that is considered a political entity. I.e. nation = country = state.
While you are correct that “hey dummy” used state in united states incorrectly, he is still right overall.

“State” is a term used to describe a nation. So yes, Demark is a state. Listen here, American: There are fifty soveriegn states which comprise the United States of America.

Actually, Lolland is one of Denmark’s most boring places ever. Also, it doesn’t mean “Laughing Out Loud-land”. That’s just the result of someone who didn’t have an English map. Furthermore, LOL doesn’t mean “Laughing Out Loud” anymore. It’s come to mean “I have nothing more interesting to add to this conversation”.

You guys figure out what Tarm and Lem means. Hint – Lem can be more than 1 thing, though in this context it’s pretty easy to guess which one of the translations I mean.
