@David and @ub3r - THANK you! a couple of intelligent comments! i think the whole right-wing left-wing scale is a spurious representation of modern politics. or else i just haven't been alive long enough to have experienced when it really was an accurate scale.

everyone who runs for presidency is after power. republicans and democrats alike. one simply has to choose the lesser of only two evils because we live in a two-party system.

it seems people are so busy fumbling with random little puzzle-piece political facts that they forget to incorporate human nature into their interpretation of government. they assume that, because it's remained RELATIVELY incorruptible (heavy emphasis on relatively!) for so long, people assume it could never fall to such states as, say, nazi germany. it's our pretentious view of our intelligence and honesty that's causing us to project this same image onto our political leaders if they have the right propoganda to back them up. it's turned into a game of he-said she-said and we civillians are being pitted against one another while the fat cats over in DC play their gluttonous political games filigreed with crony capitalism and fallacies. citizens are so terrified for their well-being with the state our economy is in that they are willingly selling themselves into slavery by placing their safety in the government, and thus allowing it to become bigger and bigger in exchange for protection from terrorism, medical care, etc.

even in America there are two sets of scales, economic and social. A social conservative would believe in things like banning abortions, prayer in schools, segregation (well, less so these days). Basically think "traditional values". An economic conservative believes in the ability of the free market to handle pretty much everything and, as a collary, believes in small government. One can be socially left and economically right (or vice versa) even in the united states.

Because people are making money in Texas after that states government has take steps to reduce governmental restrictions on the private sector.

It really is simple. You do work to create something of value. You sell that thing of value and use the money to buy other things of value.

Restrictions can only get in the way of that. Yes, it's simplistic. Economics is a simple thing. The only reason it gets complicated is because people try to move the value around like a shell game so that the average person can't tell where the money is coming from or where it's going anymore.

Obama isn't a socialist. He is the president of the most powerful capitalist country that ever existed. Why the north-american fascists call him a socialist? It's a ridiculous argument.
Socialism is a political doctrine born from the heritage of the Iluminism and Franch Revolution, in oposition to the growing of economic and socil inequalitys and opression and explotation of the richs (that controls the government and the corporations, i.e., the public e private power) over the poor workers. The greatest socialist thinker was Karl Marx. So, if you whant to know something about socialist, start by reading the Communist Manifesto. First study it, and only after judges it.
There was many movements, partys and revolutions influenced by the socialist ideas, but a policy never is a mechanical application of an ideal. The context matter, as Marx teaches. So, its necessary study the history of socialism movements and revolucions before judging it "en bloc".
