First off, it’s a rocket, not a missile. Second, it’s called back-blast. When the fuel is burned to fire the rocket you get a huge fireball behind the rocket launcher. It isn’t photoshopped.

That’s indeed an AT4, but it’s well known that except for the recent updated version AT4-CS (Confined Space) the AT4 got a MASSIVE backblast, killing or severly injuring anyone standing behind.

that is an at-4, that is a backblast, and it fires a fin stabilized projectile with a high explosive anti-tank (HEAT) warhead. its not a rocket launcher, thats not a rocket, and it isn’t shopped. if you have any further arguements, talk to any of your local iraq veterans and ask them about it.
I’m going to back my EOD brother on this and say that the AT-4 is not a rocket launcher. The M136 (AT-4) has a 84mm projectile and is a single-shot recoilless smoothbore weapon and does not use a rocket motor.
And a typical “rocket launcher” fires a grenade. Whats your point?

yeah, this is an AT-4, i wouldn’t recommend firing one indoors, it’ll rupture your insides, good there’s a new and improved version that can be shot indoors.
he may be firing it correctly, but he’s not USING it correctly. there was somebody less than 15 ft. behind him when he fired it. Check. Prime. Aim. Lock. Fire. Pray to god your highly explosive projectile hits, or the guy you fired it at will rip you a new one.
The guy in the photo and the photographer appear to be outside the danger zone, whatever the recommended arcs are it seems safe to me…
Granted I’ve taken drawing classes so I know a fair bit about perspective, but surely you can look at where the two guys’ legs are hitting the ground and tell that the ‘dead’ guy is NEXT TO the guy with the launcher.

Not sure if it’s photoshopped… to me, it just looks like they’re in between hills. The one in the foreground continues its general ascent while the ones in the background are clearly behind them. The one in the foreground is, obviously, obscuring the view of what’s behind it, and I’m sure it’s an opening to their target… and the idea is that if there’s return fire, they have suitable cover.
And it wasn’t all that funny to me (and I’m a gamer who has played many a multiplayer shooter).

This weapon is being used correctly – you can see the projective coming out the front. As far as the back blast, that is why you yell ‘Back Blast area clear!’ I learned that in Army Basic back in ’92. I am fairly sure they still do that today. Fail is fail.
