This type of mining is not uncommon. RE: Ajo, AZ, copper mine and the abandoned portion of a gold mine in Lead, SD. The one in Ajo can be seen from space and is a hoot on Google earth. Where this is–who knows. It’s not the aforementioned locations.

As the speed of the coin increased, so would the mass of the coin as Mr. “Expert at everthing” says, however this would limit the coin from attaining any sort of incredable velocity because as the mass of the coin increases, the amount of energy required to move the coin also increases. Gravity is the only thing driving this process, and gravity is a surprisingly weak force. (ever jump off the ground? Congradulations you just overcame the force of gravity.) As black holes are so massive that they absorb light itself, and faster than light travel is impossible in this dimension, it is physically impossible for the coin to become a black hole. The coin is also subject to it’s own terminal velocity and the forces of friction, further limiting it’s ability to gain any sort of significant speed, regardless of the distance it traveled. Furthermore the small diamiter of the coin means that while the coin itself would be rotating extreemly fast, the actual distance that the coin covered per rotation would be very small, further inhibiting it’s ability to attain any significant velocity. You should probably read a book or two about physics and fluid dynamics before claiming to be an “expert at everything” Donald.

Actually, a coin’s terminal velocity is about 60fps, so it wouldn’t go faster than that unaided. And no, the fact that it’s in an enormous swirly thing does not count as something that would make it go faster.

Its real, if you look at what appears to be rings, that is actually roads for heavy equipment. It is a strip mine.

To put that into even greater perspective, each of those roads are able to handle two of those humongous dirt/ore haulers (one each direction). So, they’re at least 50 meters wide.
I still wonder where all the dirt was taken to, and what they plan to do with the site when they feel they’ve reached maximum potential output of the mine. It would make for one hell of a lake.
If you look at the satellite map, you will see a MASSIVE slag pile to the Northeast of the pit.
I believe it’s actually a diamond mine, possibly near the town of Murni in Russia.
