There is no such thing in the Star Trek-verse as the Vulcan Death Grip. This was something Spock and Kirk made up to make it look like Spock killed Kirk.
This phony grip was done by Spock gripping Kirk’s FACE.

Well, actually it’s from “The Enterprise Incident. specifically, Spock used the so-called “Vulcan death grip” on Captain Kirk as a means to fool the Romulans into believing Kirk was dead, so as to bring him back on board the USS Enterprise without causing suspicion. Spock claimed that he had used the death grip instinctively in response to an unexpected assault from Kirk.
