The fires would overwhelm the firefighters and major cities would go up in flames. All in all, it’s been disappointing. Someone got a promotion in the demonic ranks of Hell for sure, but not as much as he’d have liked.

People have an energy-intensive lifestyle. Every day, I move 2,000 lbs ten miles – driving a car to work and back. I stop moving this incredible weight to watch young people cook fat in a 25-gallon, 2500-watt oven all day. Yikes. At work, even when the sun is bright, indoors the place is illuminated by 4200 lights at 25 watts each. Artificial daylight, in a part of the world where it is sunny 300 days of the year.

Could I bike to work? Yes, *I* can. Could my employer install skylights and save a bundle? Sure. Do we need to eat fast food? No.

It’s not like people do not know what’s going to happen someday. I just hope that I am personally not collateral damage.
