What happened to MotivatedPhotos.com?
As some of you know, we were running the website in our spare time, but regrettably we can’t continue to do this, as life is getting in the way.
There’s no way we could just shut the site down after having so much fun, so we’re now working with our friends at Very Demotivational to keep the site going, so that you can continue to make and enjoy the posters.
You can use the Demotivational Poster Builder, create a Cheezburger Account and stay in touch with your friends.

I agree. MotivatedPhotos has the easiest generator on the net(I assume so bcoz it can’t get any easier than that). Now I use the generator at Demotivational Pics.com and upload the generated poster here. the DemotivationalPics generator is similar(easy to use) and the generated poster is nice and big, however it shrinks when I upload it here. Just my 2 cents on this.
Appreciate all your effort on keeping MotivatedPhotos going so long – it’s been a good run. Still, lots of classic stuff has gone missing with this sudden transition. Will any more posters be carried over/archived somewhere, or are these twenty pictures all that’s left now?

Just transfer the site as it was. In other words, just let MotPhot appear as it used to be with a line saying MotivatedPhotos now brought to you by VeryDemotivatiounal or Cheezburger or Whatever. The MotPhot gang generated a Buttload of hits and you will get the benefit of the traffic but I guarantee the Motphotees miss the old format.

Really kinda bummed about this. Not that the admins of MP had to make a change, I can understand that, but, why not send a note out to the members first maybe calling for volunteers to help out before pulling the rug out from under us? I most definately would have tried to help. I am\was a new poster there for the last month and have been enjoying a surprising amount of success. I browsed through this site and haven`t seen any posters from some of the “heavy hitters” from the original site.
Well, like someone mentioned previously, it was a nice run. We`ll miss you.

Well…this was a surprise. Guess I’ll just have to download my content and wait to see what happens here. I guess I was one of the “heavy hitters” KHT1 mentioned but also have not seen any of my posts here. Taking a wait and see attitude. The site was fun while it lasted.
imagine my surprise. just downloaded the zip file. I really can’t see re-submitting 1500+ photos to a new site. i will have to pull up a chair, cr4ack a cool beer, and wait right here with ya.

I was glad to see after my hiatus that I was still at the top of the boards. last I saw I think I had over 12 million views. I was dumbfounded that all those views were on stuff i created. It felt good to a part of something that big. in a way, we drove A&S out with our success…i feel bad now, i need motivation.

Massive, epic fail. I preferred motivatedphotos.com much more than verydemotivational.com. If I’d wanted to visit verydemotivational, I would have.
RIP motivatedphotos.com. Yet another good website that bites the dust and gets taken over by a poorer-quality competitor.

you should at least told us beforehand what you where going to do so we could have saved our favorite pictures, and you could just move the picture database of mot. photos to here, so if we search images we had bookmarked we could still see them, I gotta say I came to mot photos not so long ago and I was having a blast browsing all over those witty pictures, saving some, etc, however even as new as I was it’s gonna be missed.
I know I have no right to talk about a services that was given for free but at least a week in advance notices would have helped, even maybe in the community would have taken over or something.
anyhow thanks for the good times at motivatedphotos, I hope this place works good also, and keeps the OLD content, if not it would be easier to just start a new website…

having been a fan of both sites, I’m disappointed in the initial loss of content, though that will hopefully be remedied, but verydemotivational had an excellent comment section (read via clicking the title of the pic); though there seems to be some kind of intrinsic reward for being the first poster by saying ‘first’ which I don’t personally understand – it’s not relevant to the poster.
Well i was a new user but i still loved motivated photos this isnt anything compared to it i had some really good posters that were doing great now there gone…
Only complaint I have is I liked being able to browse MP from my mobile without all the extra bullisht… Ads and all that crap, just plain formatting, motivated photos!!! I want my old MP back!

Are those 5 pages really all you selected from the near 60000 posters on motivated photos?????? Come on, there are thousands that deserve to be preserved.
Were there any plans in the works to open up more of the archived photos for retrieval? I appreciate the work that was done to let people retrieve their own posters. This, however, suggests that every poster on the site has been preserved. People are talking about retrieving their Favorites, but in the current setup files are already organized by who originally posted them. Would it be possible to change the archive so people could enter, say, the screenname of the poster they want instead of the email address to access the content?
I dont thik that those tunels and gramer nazis and “boobs – she has them” are needed here because posters on this site are supposed to be funny.
@Euto…our tunnels on MP are the same as your comments section. We had to put our comments and grammar Nazi comments in the form of a tunnel, while everyone here can do that without creating a new poster. the ability to comment on a poster is the only + I see on this site.
Yeah, and apparently you’ve got no respect for the Constitution over here either. I see all the 2nd Amendment content is gone. But what I do see is a lot of posters such as “Guns – They’re for pussies” etc, etc. Whatever.
Have to say it, but you verydemotivational ppl aren’t funny with your posters. Most of them are pretty weak.
I like how Euto actually admits that their site is lacking in humor. Look how he phrases the comment , and I’ll paraphrase “because posters on this site are supposed to be funny.” Supposed to be funny are the operative words there.
I absolutely am disgusted by the changes made. I was not a creater, but merely a person who enjoyed look through the many pictures on the site. If anything, with the new change, I am disgusted at the patethic system of finding photos. It took me 5 minutes to go through all the bloody links just to find a “most recent” section. Which I have to say, sucks. I much enjoyed the witty posters I could hunt down with key words, rather than this– which doesn’t even give you an option besides “most recent” and “hall of fame”— which by the way also sucks.
I hope you enjoyed killing the site for me, now I have to go else where to entertain my friends.
This site is nothing (maybe yet) to motivatedphotos. I feel the loss and have been looking elsewhere for my daily fix. I need upto date new pics every day and this site hasn’t delivered.

I might understand the need to join both sites, but if that is the case, the original motivatedphotos.com should have been kept ant not this one.
Browsing the site was much more fun and kept me clicking and clicking new pictures. In this site I just want to get the hell out… Pictures look smaller, lower quality and the page is full of “stuff”…
With motivatedphotos.com I had everything I needed to look for motivated pictures. Now it’s gone, I’ll look for something nicer than this actual page.
Friends of motivatedphotos can add me to their friend list. I am the lamarcountylady and would love to share some of the great posters we made prior to this site.
Please…owners of this site……contact MP former hosts and see how they did the poster thing..much easier to buile, find, post and share.
They were doing something worthwhile that needs tp be preserved. There is so much junk on this site that navigation becomes a nightmare.
Maybe this site needs to be broken into a smaller site or two.
We need to be able to put a couple of labels of our own on pur posters, not just the generic ones you pull out of the title.

Allen, you’re the best. Thanks for letting me keep my stuff, the posted as well as the deleted. I found MotPhot when my Dad was dying of cancer, and it was the only thing that helped me at night when the chores of the day were done, and then of course I became addicted to seeing my stuff in print.
Nothing is going to replace MotPhot… neither the thrill of Victory or the Agony of De-Feet! Thanks for the creative outlet, and hope you and Shane rock on in the real world!

one night i may have to take a wander through my file and pick some choice pics to re-post. a few of my when you see its,rock bottoms and other various cool pics need to live on…my girlie pics can die,for the most part.
Christ this site doesn’t hold a candle to motophot…. clicking on the pic to get to the next one… having thumbnails at the bottom… how do these guys assume control and not automatically keep the better setup? This is one bookmark thats now deleted for me.
OK, well this is sucking for the most part. After 3 days of trying to figure this site out I was finally able to create a poster… but where the f it is I can’t tell you! Too complicated, not enough bang for the buck, but at least that busted psycho meatsack AAM isn’t here with his gross tranny pictures. Apparently neither is anyone else.
I guess like the rest of you I’m gonna put my feet up and see if this
place figures itself out. Otherwise, it’s been a great run, I’ve enjoyed posting and motivating those of you who made the effort…man, this sucks!
Agree, I haven’t been able to post either. Even when they sent me the place to go to….still no posting.
There has got ot be a way to make this easier. Too many loops to jump through to make and SHARE a poster.
Motivated was easier to navigate and where’s all the catagories? If I find a link to a picture from the old site it brings me here but doesn’t show the pic….This place is nowhere near as good as MP and will kill the amount of posters being created which in turn will kill the amount of viewers.

I really wish that we were notified in advance. I was able to find a link that was ‘supposed’ to let you download your submitted content. IT DIDN’T WORK’, all it provided was error messages. Really disappointing.
I’m all for giving this new site a chance, and I have, and it sucks. The image resolution is a joke, and most of the content is too now. If these are the ‘best’ they’ve got, well it’s pretty sad over here in cheezeburgerland. I’m just glad I had the foresight to save most of the pictures I really enjoyed. Cheezeburgerland strikes me as a pretty Politically Correct & Family Friendly place, and well, that’s not my Interwebs.
It was possible to get sucked into the old Motivated Photos for hours. Verydemotivational, no, not really, not much of anything, other than yawns and yawns that go on and on.
I’ll miss motivatedphotos, we will all miss it. I’m just glad I found it when I did, and I enjoyed it for as long as I did… Oh, and that I saved my faves, yeah, that will make me happy for awhile.

OK, a question… giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, is there ever a plan to actually ~incorporate~ MotPhot into this site, or is it what it is?
Obviously VD has it’s own fan base, but those of us left hanging by MotPhot and vague promises are kinda jonesning right about now, am I right people?
So, the question is… given that people are asking questions, will the good people at VD ever provide answers, or even some imput?

Agreed. Not a very user friendly site. I have pretty much quit trying to make posters to post because I can no longer get to a save and submit button, even tho VD sent a link to it (didn’t work). Wish they would make a site that does the easy poster making. I’m sure MotPhot sent the programme to VD also. Or maybe someone out there has the time and knowhow of how to do it. Dissapointment continues.

Over a month, no response, that’s it everybody, we’ve been abandoned. None of the posters are coming over to Cheezeburger land.
i even sent an email to them personally. I have not gotten a reply. I just wished them the best and a simple TY would have been nice.

I browsed this site for about 10 minutes and felt empty afterwards. sure, they have a comment section(which i recommended to Allen as a way to cut down on tunnels), but surfing the site is frustrating and I don’t even want to mention the posting. i didn’t recognize anything of ours here either

At first I thought VD was going to work with us to make us feel at home and welcomed. That hasn’t happened. I’ve about decided they no longer read our posts. Granted some of the comments weren’t very nice, but many were just that we were happy with Motphot and the easy way posters were made. All we want is to see the 60,000 posters that are now lost in cyberland, be able to make posters in an easy manner without having to megasearch how (and the leads the owners gave DO NOT work), to be able to list some of our own categories (the poster does not have to say the word ‘music’ for that to be a category, or ‘Grateful Dead’ for that to be a category) to be able to communicate with friends and the owners/moderators of this site. We were happy and you were given the site of our happiness. Why can’t or don’t you utilize the easy method that was given to you???? It was user friendly and the one you have isn’t. I would think that you would want to increase your number of satisfied users. Please update us on what/if anything you are doing to make this easier.
Currently our team is working on importing the content and finding the best way to integrate it with our current content. Thank you for your patience.
Downloaded all of my personal posters, but the have been computer attacked and eaten. Would you please repost the site where we can download our own old MotPhot posters and perhaps a way to view the others we loved too????

Destabilizator put the archive URL in his Sept. 1 post (gimmeurl.com/mp). Hope it still works, if it does you should probably use a cd and archive the stuff. Sorry if I’m pointing out the obvious.
Site still works and I was able to transfer it to my pictures file.
Any of the old gang want to send me your email addy, I’ll send you what I haave and you can do the same,maybe that way we can get a little of the old site back.

Ya know, I understand Allen and Flagboy had to move on in life, but I still find myself saving pictures from various sites to make into MotPhot posters…and there is no MotPhot. And there is no input…and there is no hope.

We were told back on September 27th that Very Demotivational was working on integrating MotPhot’s content. Is there any new word on how this is coming along, or has the effort been abandoned?
I don’t think any of us regular Motivated Photo regulars care at this point. I know I haven’t even thought about it since September 29th.
