You have utterly missed the entire joke. In the 1800′s, there were TWO different versions of football- Soccer and Rugby. The American sport called ‘football’ is itself a variant of Rugby. So technically speaking Soccer, Rugby, and American football are ALL “Football”.

While I do agree that vuvuzelas are extremely annoying… They are not soccer equipment… and actually have no relation to soccer whatsoever, and only became a large part of the world cup because of it’s location this year – South Africa

The person who took the picture is my father.
They are Blue Bull Rugby fans, but he vuvu was used as this was the first game in Soweto at a Soccer stadium. Why this picture made the papers in South Africa is because rugby is traditionally a sport played and supported by white South Africans, and at a soccer stadium – more supported by black South Africans – in a traditionally black suburb. It’s great to see how South Africa’s rainbow nation is getting along. To everyone swearing at the white woman and calling them Dutchman, thank you for putting south Africa back to before the 1994 election you F**king pricks.
