Relgion can have a purpose in peoples lives, and the messages of a lot of them boil down to ‘lead a good life and treat others the way you want to be treated’. So as long as people aren’t using religion as an excuse to harm others, it’s fine.

I agree with Fubar. When Jesus was out trying to convert people, he didn’t kill people who didn’t want to listen. He only accepted volunteers. The Crusades were completely misguided, they were more for greed than religious purposes (which was what they were supposed to be for in the firs place, but the sacking of Constantinople and the massacre in Jerusalem proved that their intentions were anything but what Jesus would do…).

well, it’s not compulsory to be atheist or religious to be good or bad, because at the end the important thing is to be nice with evryone who is near to you, it’s meaningless what is the belief of them, so I could believe that I might or not be real and even then, treat others as I would be treated, or go to the church every sunday and just when it ends, I can hurt my siblings in any way possible, so it affects only a bit, to make people more creative about how to mess up everything or to follow the rules (when those are to be followed, we mustn’t lose our right to make choices), afterall there exists family and society as well
