My brother works in the oil industry, and spends a lot of time on Scandinavian ships – apparently a large proportion of their food comes in tubes. Cheese in a tube, ham in a tube, shrimp in a tube…

It is only in Sweden that they have a lot of their household food in tubes. I am from Sweden, but live in Denmark, and here we have no food in tubes

No that’s not true. What we do have though is processed cheese on tubes in different flavors. Like cheese, ham, shrimp, deer, salami etc. Most likely that’s what he’s seen.

I had stumbled across that blog a long time ago and loved it. Between computer crashes, though, I lost my favorites and never did pick some back up, so thank you SO FLIPPING MUCH for linking that.
After further investigation on this topic I did discover, as someone else posted, that this wasn’t actually bacon in a tube but it was actually cheese flavored with bacon. I’m in the process of obtaining just such a tube, but the going is slow. They do not have this at Ikea, but they do carry a product flavored with prawn.
