    • Hejhopp says:

Well, who won the World War II?

      I rest my case.

      And I’m a neutral swede!

    • Noodles says:

No, that’s the Washington Monument there in the background. You can tell by the holes in the superstructure.

Given the recent trend in Las Vegas attractions, it is very probable that there actually _is_ a Washington Monument obelisk somewhere on the Strip.

      • NEv says:

It is the Washington Monument. This screenshot comes from the opening movie of Fallout 3, which takes place in Washington DC. The image is just a bad photoshop, probably not even made by Bethseda, of Fallout 3 with the New Vegas logo superimposed on it.

I think all this demotivational (and half the posts on this page) proves is that Americans aren´t the most ignorant self-absorbed people like most make us out to be. America is just the victim of a massive double standard. And quite frankly it´s getting really old.

  1. paradox boy says:

first!! :3 – yeah dude, you should be ashamed

    • Zophie says:

      you should be ashamed

      • sean says:

the first poster is soooooooooooo cool. the person who posted that tooooooooootally didnt put the new vegas title on fallout three or anything! that’s toooooooooootally not photoshopped! and im reaaaaaaaallly not being sarcastic!

  2. enaud says:

    LOL, Amercans

    • jim says:

your sentiment’s right, but people are going to jump on the fact that you spelled it wrong. but yea, lol, americans

      • Yurka Maku says:

it is sad that other countries know more about americans than those who live in the country, let alone the same city they dont know about

        • Anonymoose says:

Considering that’s the DC wasteland from Fallout 3, and the ruins of the Washington monument from Fallout 3…..

          • Lucas says:

Yeah, anyone who has played the new Fallout games should recognize that this isn’t from New Vegas.

          • john says:

thank you its incredible that none of the other retards that made these posters realized that it was part of the intro sequence from fallout3 that someone edited the vegas sign into

          • Blam says:

It’s worth noting that the Washington Monument is made of solid stone, not reinforced concrete, so that can’t be the WM as you can see the exposed rebar.

See also CoD: Modern Warfare 2 which has the same problem.

            • TS says:

You’re assuming the artist/graphic designer for the game also knows that.

They draw pretty pictures, they don’t know structural engineering, nor the composition of buildings.

If the people who make video games and their art knew anything, there’d be a lot few explosions in games – and a lot more games would go from having health bars to being like Contra.

          • argentlupus says:

FINALLY!!! someone recognizes this for what it is. Bethesda’s first attempt at promoting New Vegas.

        • Yourope says:

Except the funny thing is that it IS the Washington Monument. That is, unless the Luxor Obelisk (which doesn’t exist in F:NV) was damaged in the EXACT same way as the Washington Monument in F3, was surrounded by DC buildings, and was NOWHERE NEAR ANYTHING RESEMBLING THE LUXOR

        • Alex says:

At least Europeans still riot against injustice. Americans jut gave up, they sit on their fat asses watching American Idol, as your corrupt politicians and Christian fanatics take away your freedom.

          • forkforkforkfork says:

Yeah, but Europeans riot against injustice in soccer.

            • Some Guy says:

Against injustice in soccer. You mean like general strikes in Portugal, France, Greece, Spain, Italy, Lithuania… and a lot of other non-general strikes. Right?

            • SarcoN says:

              what is soccer?
              *looks it up*
              IT’S CALLED -FxxxING- FOOTBALL

              • trollomite says:

no america did football right its supposed to be played in brief 8 second sprints for a few hour by 300 pound men not for 3 hour or how ever long that stupid game is by 160 pound men lightly jogging

                • D1SC0N1NJ4 says:

actually, the rest of the world did football right, as, you know, it’s a ball, that you kick, with your foot.

                  • Brains512 says:

Actually Football was given that name because it was played on foot, by the lower class people, whereas the upper class played Polo, which is on horseback. So all kinds of football are actually right, although you guys are talking about soccer and gridiron, the real football is AFL (you may not have heard of this, its Australian!)

                    • Stotan1228 says:

^Agreed. I’m an American but I watch AFL every chance I get because that is some crazy s**t. Beats the hell out of football and American football. Need I elaborate? It’s a bit like rugby, football, and American football mixed all together but minus pads of any kind.

                      • Roger says:

Not giving in the argument for dumbness or football, I always thought that americans are self-centered mainly because of the systems they use to distance, weight and temperature. Why the hell not use the metric, kilogram and celsius like the rest of the world?

                      • Stotan1228 says:

^I’ve wondered this myself as an American but after examining it I guess it’s just due to the vastness of the United States and our stubbornness when it comes to change. To change all of the road signs, measurements, and thermometers that don’t show celsius, would be a monumental task that would require an incredible amount of resources for the actual change and long bouts of politicking in order to convince the 300,000,000+ people to change from something that is near second nature to them. Granted you wouldn’t have to convince all of them just the majority of the politicians and that is no mean feat. Do I think that eventually we will change to metric? Yes, but for the time being it will just have to stay the way it is.

                    • cico34 says:

America doesn’t make sense with those sports.
Football, however, ball and foot rarely make contact.
Polo. Horseback ball game with sticks. sense?

Now they forget what’s in one of the country’s most famous cities!?

                  • Shadix says:

                    GUESS WHAT ?

                    American football too.

                  • downfallyogi says:

are you serious? that is the f**king Washington Monument… That picture is from the first release of Fallout 3 which was based in Washington DC. The luxor’s obelisk has more of an angle going up to it anyways. Look into something before you speak dumb ass. BTW I come from the 48th state based on the education level. Meaning out of all 50 states we are among the dumbest and I can tell tell the difference.

                    • Kouma says:

Dude, The Luxor isn’t even in Fallout: New Vegas.
The closest thing to real Las Vegas is the Lucky 38 which kinda looks like the Stratosphere, and the Silver Rush whish is an obvious nod to the Golden Nugget

                    • American Football? Seriously. Play rugby. It’s like “football”, but full-contact, no pads, and more violence.

                  • Mehhh says:

Rugby is one of the stupidest sports ever invented imo. People running full speed at each other with no helmet or pads? Just run into a wall why don’t you?

                  • Noodles says:

In fact, most people who identify as Americans are of European extraction. Lots of British, lots of Germans, and smaller lots of people from lots of smaller countries.

          • BlakDragon says:

Loosing/winning a football tournament is an injustice?
            I had no idea.

          • TS says:

Like when you burn people alive in Greece for the crime of being bank tellers? Or when your new conquerors burn Paris?

F**k off, Eurotrash. Don’t you have some minorities to go incinerate or something?

        • the dude says:

          /irony

you are a fat and dumb american. i, on the other hand, am amuch better person than you will ever be, because i am german.

          /irony

well, i am german. and it is a sad fact that the us education system isn’t the best there is (our’s isn’t either), but those aren’t legitamate reasons to bash our heads in over a stupid demotivational poster.

btw: i like our socialist healthcare system. it is nice and cheap. and here comes the really ironic part: not as bureaucratic as hmo’s.

        • Pyros says:

Too bad that actually IS the Washington Monument, seeing as that screenshot is from Fallout 3 and NOT New Vegas. So sad that people in other countries are so quick to jump on the US for being stupid when they themselves don’t know what the f**k they’re talking about.

        • Stefan says:

          I’m Australian :3

          Problem economies?

        • Papushi says:

Look dude, just cause we got a better social net and universal does not mean we’re socialist. Now piss off and pay obeisance to the Chinese.

        • Phil says:

Actually I do have to grant that. When a person not living in the united states is familiar with an area surrounding their counrty equal in size to the united states, and is, in fact, more familiar with it than a US citizen is with the US; then they have the right to gloat.
Note that I am not saying that Europeans are or are not more familiar with said area.

          • Jared says:

Thank you Phil for stipulating US and US citizens. Yes they are Americans, Enaud, but so are hundred’s of millions of others on both american continents. Let’s not sede them the whole of it, even if it is just in common speech.

        • APPLE says:

“Crappy socialist wastes”? Really? That’s funny, since they seem to be doing better then we are at the moment…

          Thanks Capitalism!

        • anony mouse says:

i’ve gotta say, i was with you until the “fixing their own crappy socialistic wastes” part. The “socialist” european countries are doing much better, on average, than us capitalist ‘mericans.

          • TS says:

That’s because European nations don’t have to pay for militaries – the US protects Western Europe.

And Eastern Europe was socialist, and is busy fixing their socialist wastes. Western Europe is just going to financially implode.

            • Papushi says:

No one is forcing the US to have bases in Europe or for that matter anywhere else in the world. The US likes having bases all around the world. The US could leave Europe, but it won’t. Europe takes advantage of that. Deal with it.

Western Europe is actually dealing with it’s problems. Germany is one of the healthiest economies in the world. Scandinavia is fine as well. And France and the UK are actually trying to deal with their problems now, instead of delaying them for later like the US.

        • Icecreampirate says:

Wow, props to you for stopping to eat fastfood long enough to write this dumbass rant. Maybe we wouldn’t be so self-involved with our own problems if you guys hadn’t caused a worldwide financial takedown , of which the scale Is only now starting to diminish?
And europe = socialistic ? Really dude?

        • me says:

If the largest state in Australia was a country it would be about the 10th biggest country in the world.

        • Crisp13 says:

Ok, USA are larger, but Las Vegas and Washington are some of the largest cities in the USA. So every american should be ashamed about knowing nothing about this cities. I agree that not all Americans are dump, but if you say Europeans to be self-involved, ignorant a$$holes, you arent better than the these Europeans.
          And yeah, LOL Americans XD

          • Anonymoose says:

Except that’s a photoshop. Of the DC wasteland. Which is on the East Coast, waaaaay the hell away from the Mojave Desert.

            Problems, Europeans?

          • Justin says:

Okay people that is actually a picture of the D.C. ruins in fallout 3 due to the fact that this is on the intro to fallout 3 and fallout 3 takes place in D.C. not vegas, not the obelisk in front of the Luxor, that and the little fact that I live in Vegas and would freaking know lol

        • batman says:

dude, it IS the Washington Monument….the snapshot is taken from Fallout 3, with the Las Vegas sign shopped into it……so the American was right and the European was wrong here…..

        • ellie says:

If you’re that smart then why does a Swiss girl have to teach you the difference between “then” and “than”? “Then” refers to time while “than” is used in comparisons.

btw, I find it insulting too that Americans in general are called stupid. After all, America consists more than just the United States…

        • Sam says:

See this is why V was born in the UK (I think)

        • Unknown Caller says:

Yes, us Europeons are self-involved pricks, but GOD some of you Americans are fking RETARDED!!! Now i’m not saying that all americans are derp’stupid, but….

True fact: the US has the biggest procentage of mental retardnes, autism and other mental disabilities in the whole fking world. – Food for tough.

          • Pyros says:

Good lord the irony in this post is mind boggling.

          • Captain Obvious says:

Forgive me if I’m wrong, but ‘some’ is not equivalent to ‘all’. The stereotype of us Americans is that we are all obese, stupid, and lazy. Even if we have the highest percentage of mental retardation, that’s not to say all Americans are that way. America also has a system for taking care of the mentally retarded, which could be the reason why we have so many; we don’t allow nature to take it’s evolutionary course. That’s not to say nowhere else does, because I’m not going to research that at this time. Speaking of research, if you are going to redundantly say ‘true fact’ and post an offensive message, it would help to quote your source. I have trouble accepting that ‘true fact’, because I see no research indicating that it is, indeed, true. Now, call me an idiot for being American, but I believe everything I stated here is perfectly reasonable, logical, and not flagrantly rude.

          • General Obvious of the Retarded Armed Forces says:

As my subordinate Capt. Obvious stated, without a TRUSTWORTHY source your “fact” is unfounded and invalid. As it stands, your comment can only be regard as bias slander against a country which you may not have even been to. You don’t state whether or not you have been to America so this idea is implied. Also given that the population of the United States is more than half of the total population of all of the countries in the European Union (US is ranked third largest population), it stands to reason that we would have a larger number of mentally handicapped people than any other country in Europe, even if we had a lower percentage. (Information: epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu and countryreports.org/United States of America.aspx and factfinder.census.gov/servlet/SAFFPopulation?_submenuId=population_0&_sse=on). And unlike my subordinate, I’m not going to be as polite. NYEH!

          • Aly says:

            Food for thought:
-America is TWO CONTINENTS, not just the U.S.
-You managed to miss a comma, not capitalize I, didn’t capitalize A in American, misspelled PERCENTAGE, forgot “retardness” isn’t even a WORD, AND you misspelled THOUGHT—and you call US “stupid”.
-You managed to throw us both (Europeans and Americans) into two ignorant stereotypes—so you AGREE all you are is a self-involved prick?
Hate to say this, but congrats, you managed to look stupid yourself. I wouldn’t throw people into stereotypes like that but dude, you definitely are in the “has something shoved up their ass” category. Good thing you’re not afraid to show it. Oh, forgot to add: I’m a 14 year old girl who happens to Hispanic.

        • Mieze says:

You definitely proved your political knowledge by pointing out that Europe has still socialistic countries… OH WAIT! That was before 1990. I’m sorry that American public schools can’t afford school books which are up to date, like European schools do…

        • dsch says:

says the guy from the country in which if you’re poor and sick, you die.
Socialism yeah, true, are you talking about that thing that gives you free social security and helps you live decently, or the USSR ?
By the way, most (if not all) European countries have had right wing party leaders for at least twenty years.

Oh snap ! I did it ! I just ignored the picture and commented on someone else’s silly remark, killed the fun !

But yeah wouldn’t surprise me that there’d be a washington’s monument in Las Vegas xD !

        • Reset says:

This guy is full of win

      • Pyros says:

and lol dumbasses like you and enaud making fun of people for being correct

How’s it going there in Europe/Asia/wherever the hell you’re from?

    • ^This says:

Uber troll has trolled uberly. P.S. for all future people, sarcasm does not transfer through the Internet

  3. =] says:

cause we Germans r awesome like that

  4. Mavis says:

It’s a well know fact that Germans love David Hasselhoff.

  5. triplanetary says:

Well it sure does look exactly like the Washington Monument from FO3, with the exact same damage and everything, so even if we accept that it’s the Luxor Hotel’s obelisk (which, incidentally, is not present in the game), somebody in Bethesda’s marketing department was lazy.

  6. That one guy says:

Actually, that is the games representation of the Washington monument.
It takes any idiot to slap on a fake sign that says “Las Vegas” onto a still from Fallout 3.

  7. Charlie says:

actually that is the washington monument. that shot is from fallout 3, set in d.c.
someone just shopped in the vegas graphics
    but yeah, lol, germans

  8. Silly Creators says:

I like how this is a shot from Fallout 3, not New Vegas….

  9. Imperfect says:

Is it me, or is that actually Fallout 3, not New Vegas, so the whole thing is a fail?

  10. Black Zarak says:

Uh, that’s just a screenshot of Fallout 3 with the Las Vegas sign poorly shopped in front of it, it’s not even the New Vegas sign. So you both fail.

  11. MNM1245 says:

That image is taken from Fallout 3 which took place in Washington not Fallout: New Vegas. So fail for both of those demotivationals.

  12. Black Zarak says:

Also the sheer irony of Yurka’s comment just created a rift in the fabric of time somewhere…

  13. drp says:

    Do Germans not have apostrophe’s?

  14. Bryan says:

Actually, the main image is taken from Fallout 3 and that is the Washington Monument. then someone pasted a Las Vegas sign over it, mostly likely a fake homemade promo for fallout 4: New Vegas.. THIS AMERICAN 1 – Germans 0…

  15. s says:

lol “why does a german have to teacch you that” AHAHAH

    • silrath says:

      The German could spell “teach”.

      • SarcoN says:

every idiot knows that at some point of typing you will make a typo, i guess that makes you retarded.

        • Alice says:

Well, technically, that would still make you the idiot, dear. If every idiot knew that, and you’re the one to mention it, then that makes you the idiot. By not accepting your typo as a common error, silrath eliminated his/her self from being able to be labled “retarded”, as you so carelessly tried to do.

  16. Black Zarak says:

Also also, the Hotel Luxor is not in New Vegas, not even the ruins of it or a similarly named casino that looks like it. And no, the Ultra-Luxe does not look like it either.

  17. thecrazymex says:

i swear this is the picture from fallout 3, in which case that would be the washington monument

  18. cerdac says:

You realize that is the washington monument right? It’s a picture from fallout 3 with a las vegas stamp on it.

  19. DrDante says:

    I´m on the Mainpage =D
    THX guys =)

  20. germans should think before speaking says:

Actually Germans are wrong here. That’s a poster for the video game Fallout 3, where the destroyed Washington Monument does exist in the game. But it’s made to look like Fallout Vegas, where the Luxor Hotel does not exist.

  21. Oh (Pokemon) Snap says:

You’re right! That IS the Washington Monument! And do you know why?
    Because that is WASHINGTON.

  22. Gamefail says:

What a fail of a Demotivational.

  23. Timmy says:

The graphic itself is from Fallout 3. Which was in DC. The Vegas sign – from the next game in the series – is superimposed on top.

    • Seth says:

Thank god not everyone here is not a moron its a photo shop used by people to draw people on to their you tube videos for a sneak peek at fallout new veges before it was released it was used to troll and now it seems the idiots have come out in droves to fall for it again .

  24. um says:

wasn’t the first poster talking about the how it says las vegas and how there is a washington monument in the background? not where the sign is geographically located?

    • Makronette says:

Seems about right, does looks like the OP was picking fun at bad logo/picture combination.

      • Beam says:

exactly, it was meant to be a sarcastic caption (apparently)

Oh, and by the way… did you know this is from Fallout 3 and really IS the Washington Monument? I don’t think it was mentioned yet ;-P

  25. ClosetKitteh says:

Vegas doesn’t have that kind of architecture, I mean what it looked like before it got ruined. Trust me, I LIVE in Vegas.

  26. Some Guy says:

Germans, proof that Americans aren’t the worst at placing foreign monuments

  27. Anonymoose says:

Obvious shop is obvious. You can tell by the pixels. And that it’s also a screencap from the Fallout 3 intro & trailer.

  28. blah says:

    Ok, all of you idiots
    1) Yes that is taken from Fallout 3
    2) The Fallout: New Vegas logo doesn’t look like that, that’s the Las Vegas logo
    3) I really think the one that made this demotivational, didn’t actually mean it, and of course knew that it was actually the Washington Monument.

Shut the f**k up, all of you

  29. Black Zarak says:

Being front page doesn’t stop you from being an idiot…

  30. Arachfinne says:

Right… so how many of you does it take to point out the same fact?

  31. Diane says:

Just because Vegas is a big, famous city, doesn’t mean everybody has to know all of the buildings and what they look like.

  32. chupacabre says:

    germans are idiots…

    • Someone says:

Congratulations! You just judged a population of around 81,757,600 people based on one internet comment! If you just turn around, the door to your left leads to further ignorance, and the door to the right leads to some off-hand comment about socialists/nazis. You may choose either one in your rebuttal.

  33. jason says:

i go to vegas twice a year and had no idea that the luxor had an obelisk…heck i even stayed at that hotel once.

    • Justin says:

yea I live here and never really noticed it it is in the front and pretty small, its right in front of the replica sphinx entrance thing

  34. Alex says:

Been to Vegas many times. That’s the Washington monument. The Obelisk at the Luxor is tiny, nowhere as big as the one in the image. Plus there is nothing like the architecture of the other buildings anywhere near it, or in Vegas at all to be honest.

  35. Trevor Roal says:

    Fallout is a terrible RPG.

  36. A Filipino says:

    I’m a Filipino…

  37. KingJames says:

Why the heck are there 1000 people telling the same s**t over and over again?! I think we got it: Its a Fallout3 screen! Playing in Washington! It’s shopped! … Holy smoke we got it already!

  38. Not German says:

There is no such thing as a Luxor obelisk, the Luxor hotel is a pyramid, like the ones in Egypt.

  39. SamK2323 says:

Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but, that is a still from Fallout 3 with the Fallout: New Vegas logo ‘shopped onto it… just saying…

  40. Requiem says:

This sucks. That’s a Brotherhood of Steel Paladin in the Fallout 3 intro in Washington D.C., with the Welcome in New Vegas sign pshopped onto it.

  41. fayul says:

    stupid americ**ts …

  42. surple says:

you’re all idiots this was a promo for New Vegas that used a shot from Fallout 3

  43. andy says:

A German feeling superior? That must be a first~

    • Kyahl says:

They have to do stuff like this to make themselves feel better after the blow to their self esteem, upon finding out that Justin Bieber has no clue what they are. It was devastating to them, you have to understand.

  44. RaZor921 says:

As I’m sure a lot of people already said: That’s a Fallout 3 poster, with the Las Vegas thing photoshopped in. That is NOT New Vegas

  45. Makronette says:

I like how a lot of people know the actual deal with this picture, making the German who “corrected” the OP look very very stupid right about now, enjoy knowing you fail German dude :)

I think this might be a hint for you to go and play Fallout 3 so you can learn about the game before you make a fail like this ^^

  46. Steve says:

This is a fail on all y’all’s part. I don’t think comments take THAT long to load. 90% of the comments point out that it’s from Fallout 3, and the Vegas sign is shopped in. We get it. Read the comments before posting a new one exclaiming that it’s from Fallout 3. And move out of your parent’s basement and stop playing so many video games.

    • Rubio says:

This is a fail on all y’all’s part. I don’t think comments take THAT long to load. 50% of the comments point out that that 90% of other comments said it’s from Fallout 3, and the Vegas sign is shopped in. We get it. Read the comments before posting a new one exclaiming that 90% of comments say it’s from Fallout 3. And move out of your parent’s basement and stop being a jerk.

  47. chmax says:

    @Steve : Dude, it’s from Fallout 3.

Then, the guy who photoshopped the picture should have taken the real sign from the game Fallout New Vegas :

  48. hak32001 says:

    Hey Germans, you lost something………..

    WWII

    • hak32001 says:

      ….and this demotivational

      • ReDNeCK says:

just wait for the third WW when they join forces with china and we have to work in their weird restaurants with beer n chop suey

      • H3nQ says:

At least losing WW2 made Germans humble and aware of their own human flaws, instead of being full of themselves and arrogant.

The USA is the only country in the world that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between.

        • brando says:

Do you think that this instance of Germans being dead wrong, and America being totally right is likely to make us less or more arrogant?

        • zooommer says:

I beg to differ. I have lived in Germany, visit periodically and have been married to a German for the last 26+ years. Germans are most definitely not “humble and aware of their own human flaws”.

        • Tanner says:

Really? Because I’m pretty sure that American civilization was about on par with the UK and France for its first 150 years or so of existence.

Unless you’re referring to the transition from being inhabited by the natives to controlled by European settlers in the 1500s. In that case, you would be saying that the Europeans were already decadent at the time of crossing the Atlantic, and that the Native Americans were barbarians.

I think you need a cultural sensitivity class.

        • qarl says:

yeah, you should like, put quotation marks on that last thing you just said, you know, like, out of respect to the guy who originally said it, like, ‘couse you wouldn’t look like a douchebag then, you know, like, the kind that steal other peoples brilliant phrases and use them as their own, you know, yeah.

        • Papushi says:

Hey Oscar Wilde is great, but I’ll start worrying when the US sets the standard for genocide.

          • TS says:

Actually the Germans lose at that, too.

Russians and Chinese beat them – though they used a kraut – Marx – for inspiration. Marxism is up to over 94 million in the 20th century, according to the French Black Book of Communism.

            • Papushi says:

Genocide is the systematic extermination of a specific ethnolinguistic group. The Chinese and the Russians were indiscriminate in who they killed, so it’s really more useful to call it mass killing than genocide.

    • German Guy says:

Sorry, i can’t hear you about my health care system…

      And by the way…Vietnaaaaam!

      • Justin says:

if you want to bring wars into this, I can bring up world war 1 and 2 mate, that comment proves that every country has its ignorant individuals. America has em and so dose Germany the sooner people realize that all of our s**t stinks the same way the better.

    • Hans Olo says:

And you are loosing your freedom of speech rights as we speak – doing nothing about it :-)

  49. brando says:

Oh Snap. Germans are stupid. LULZ. Germans think that Washington DC is in Las Vegas. hahaha. Time for them to start begging for an apology.

  50. Rich says:

Where in the first poster does it say that the person making it is American?

  51. Ceohdoth says:

Actually, thats the Washington Monument. It was in Falout 3.

  52. BlakDragon says:

I think the original caption was a troll, and DrDante fell for the trap perfectly.
That or whoever photoshoped the original picture is the troll.

  53. Otto-Moe-Bill says:

Arrogance……. not restricted to America anymore.

    • TS says:

Considering all the self-hating Americans on here, you’d be surprised there’s any at all. If anyone isn’t a self-hating American, they might see how swaggeringly arrogant the rest of the world is – a bunch of snots with short-man’s disease.

Except for Peru, Honduras, and India. They cool.

Hey, where was that video game made, anyway?

Oh, that’s right – it’s from Bethesda studios in Maryland, USA. Why don’t you go pet your monkey, Dieter?

  54. Jack says:

Too bad the hotel Luxor doesn’t have an Obelisk. its just the pyramid, an oasis, and a Sphinx.

  55. will says:

providing the luxor is not even in new vagas makes it even better

  56. killer_buzz says:

actually, you should all be ashamed, or admit you never played fallout 3 – BOTH the washington monument AND the building next to it with the leaning women ARE featured in fallout 3. This was likely someone’s shameless photoshop attempt at having to get recognized… throw new vegas overtop of a 3 image…

  57. Stotan1228 says:

Contrary to popular international belief, not all Americans have been to Vegas. Or D.C., LA, the state of Florida, or NYC for that matter.

  58. The Mighty Cephas says:

I shall settle this once and for all.

Indeed there is a monument like that in Vegas, however have some promo art for Fallout 3:

    http://www.thetechherald.com/media/images/200845/fallout3_1.jpg

    Settled? U MAD?

  59. brando says:

The Germans need to learn something. C’mon dum dum, send us your bonze.

  60. Leelluu says:

Because we Americans don’t get any paid time off and can’t afford to go on vacation.

  61. joman says:

No, that’s the Washington Monument. For those who are dumb, the Fallout 3 game was set in Washington D.C. The Monument is even in the game.

Some lazy PR person used a shot from Fallout 3, stuck the new “Las Vegas” logo on it, and went to lunch. It’s just lazy workmanship.

  62. DotFR says:

    EPIIIIIIIIIIIIC
    Troll.

  63. Zero says:

    Phtotoshop:
    Proves everyone’s and idiot.

  64. shutup says:

stop this f***in shit about germany and america, both sides..
just think about it and you’ll see you talking a big bunch of crap..#
    1. just because a german guy makes a joke doesn’t mean you can generalize that on whole europe…
    2. this sort of which country is the best is crap too, if there would be an americain guy doin this with a german pic would end up exactly the same way…
both countries have dis-, and advantages
so instead of talkin s**t, try to use you brains…

    • Justin says:

just like I said all of our s**t stinks the same way, all countries are more similar than most think, not something common for an American to say but some of us do realize this, I find the country bashing as pointless. Every county has its morons and geniuses.

  65. Cloymax says:

All this arguing about countries and economies…

Now, my way of seeing it: Switzerland is superior to everything. end of my point. :O

  66. bob says:

sorry to point out, this is a picture from Fallout 3. FACT

  67. Akun says:

Humans… they are all the same no matter the country.

  68. Kyahl says:

I read this and enjoyed your pointless rant.
You’re about 30 comments too late. Better luck next time, big guy :)

  69. Trenton says:

That actualy is Fallout 3, I can tell by the power armor and the door way, so it is indeed the Washington monument.

  70. Faust says:

I’m an American, and I just lol’d at all the fail Europeans who attempted to troll this.

Also silly Euros, if you keep getting anal about how USA citizens call themselves American, what do you wish us to call ourselves? Fail less!

  71. Alii says:

Yeah, Yeah. We have floods and fires every year, nothing new for us. But then you would know that if you were educated with respect to other cultures and countries other than your own. Perhaps a stanza from one of our most famous poems written by Dorothea MacKellar in 1908:

    I love a sunburnt country,
    A land of sweeping plains,
    Of ragged mountain ranges,
    Of drought and flooding rains,
    I love her far horizons,
    I love her jewel sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me.

So you can have your football or soccer (whatever you call it), your basket case economies and your endless arguments about pointless and mundane things. If I have to live through a few floods and fires to call Australia home then so be it. I wouldn’t swap Australia for any other place on Earth.

Admit it, you all wish you lived in Australia! ;P

PS Free to good home – Australian Cricket Team (can’t bowl, can’t bat, can’t catch).

  72. Arth says:

    Yeah… America…
I am European myself and to be honest, some European countries are a complete mess. But don’t claim that America is all mighty cause in the last few years, the US goverment did more bad to the world than good.

And anyways. It is human nature to pointessly argue like this… :/

  73. cico34 says:

    Las Vegas.
    Looks exactly like Washington…

    Wait a minute…

  74. Derek says:

It’s the Wasington Monument from Fallout 3. The Luxor isn’t in Fallout: New Vegas.

  75. me says:

    Proof of American arrogance:
They’re still gloating about “Nazi Germany”, while they themselves tend to forgot about the Indians, that two towns in Japan, and, while their ancestors where still part oft the British Empire, the Aborigines…

Who sits in a glashouse shouldn’t be throwing stones! (Translation of a German saying)

just my two cents in this discussion…

    • Who_Cares says:

That little proverb actually dates back to Chaucer, not a German by the way. Also it is Glass House not glashouse

    • Ryan says:

Except you know…we won all those wars? If it wasnt for the US, Germany would be a s**t hole with just white dog s**t laying all over it if it were not for the US dumping billions of dollars to bring their economy back up after World War II.

    • Alii says:

As far as I’m aware only two countries, Canada and Australia have indigenous peoples who are referred to as Aboriginal. Not sure how America (USA) comes into the equation?

And on the reference to ancestors; we all originate from what we now call Africa so you ancestral point is also weak.

Fair call on the ‘Nazi Germany’ regurgitation though. Heaven help we mention the ongoing Middle East situation and the USA’s ‘intelligence organisation’. Sorry, I have to end this now as my sides are splitting from laughter having mentioned intelligence and USA in the same sentence…

  76. :/ says:

    People, F**K OFF :/
    everybody, F**K OFF

    Americans, F**K OFF
    Europeans, F**K OFF
and all the rest, F**K OFF

    stupid arguments, stupid people.
everytime there is simething impling country issues/stereotipes it is allways the same S**T!

    uggh now i’m ok
    kthnksbai

    • DJ says:

Wow, that was really refreshing since it didn’t have a patriotic rant or a fact that’s already been stated in almost every comment before it in it. Thank you!

  77. asbduhas says:

Whoever made the first image in this picture is stupid. I mean seriously, poorly shopping the LAS Vegas sign (Not the NEW Vegas one) and Obsidian’s logo onto a screencap from Fallout 3? That’s just a terrible attempt at being funny, and it fails stupendously.

The retort isn’t even that funny.

  78. Who_Cares says:

It’s because Las Vegas is just a tourist trap and most Americans who do go there are not there for the architecture, just the booze and gambling. Also, they like to model their buildings on other famous structures like maybe, who knows, maybe the Washington Monument.

  79. Niero says:

That’s a screen shot from Fallout 3′s intro scene, and yes that’s DC. Someone just superimposed the New Vegas logo.

But I’ve probably just repeated half the comments in this thread…

  80. Niero says:

The fact that most of the things you claim are wrong are actually good things (Conservatism, our more advanced health care system that DOESN’T involve months in line and euthanasia) and that you think we’re racist when most of our racism troubles come from insensitive a$$holes jumping at the chance to call someone else racist, I’d say you in Europe have a whole lot more to fix than we do. How’s that EU-wide welfare state doing? Tired of the riots yet?

  81. The Doctor says:

…because sadly, most of us Americans are idiots.

  82. Dan says:

the poster is from Fallout 3. Whoever made this is the idiot.

  83. Avast says:

I love these comment trains, because i don’t have such a sad life that i either

    A. Make fun of America and stereotype the entire nation just to make myself feel better even though i probably fit the bill better than the U.S. citizens do.
    or
    B. Get so gosh darn butthurt when someone makes fun of americans even though this is a humor website that means absolutely nothing anyways.

I could give a rat patooty what the rest of the country is like, i’m not an idiot and i’m not fat SOO….

    Whatever to everybody.

  84. törtlgai says:

    I like turtles

  85. B0N3S says:

K serious question time why did the German put the question mark last? I know it’s a second language and all, but put some effort into it!
