Sadly, the US government is too cheap to replace the M4 or M16. Those rifles are terrible for desert conditions. >x< Hopefully they'll get their heads out of their asses and replace them. Preferably with something higher caliber then 5.56 NATO. (Why did my spellcheck list 'hitler' as an option for 'higher?')
Unlikely the ACR, the acr was a relatively heavy weapon until just recently when the company made changes to it, such as removing the easy change barrel and making it so you need tools to change calibers, also they removed the folding stock and soldiers who were testing it said they had problems with fire selector switch being where it is and very uncomfortable ,also the usa has conducted weapons tests and the scar and acr were practically neck and neck in the results but the scar is much lighter. But the most proficient replacement remains to be the HK-416 google search it and you will learn alot about the platform its a very good weapon. (on a side note some US Army Rangers units have already adopted the SCAR) All for info of course lol
I think the Germans lost WWII because they over extended their resources and allowed Japan to incite America into joining the fight before they were ready… Or it could have been the puppies..
No, they lost because the Americans realized that the Germans had better armor and weapons, and simply out-produced the Germans. For every German tank there were like 3 or 4 American tanks.
The Germans were short on fuel, short on supply, short on men, short on strategy, and long on stupid from their Fuhrer.
On the ground, they were still using a bolt action rifle with a 5 round magazine, while the brits were at a faster-operating 10 with the Enfield, the US had the M1 Garand and M1 carbine as standard issue firearms. Just to start there. In the east on the ground, the Germans attacked the USSR, which had cannon fodder to throw at them until winter started and the thaw ruined any advances – not to mention the mass production of Soviet tanks.
Really, you don’t even need to read a book or watch the history channel – you can figure it out by playing CoD (the first one) and Axis & Allies.
The Germans made strategic blunders, used a code system that was broken by the Brits and the US; they overextended themselves, overextended their airforce, were pummelled by daytime bombing raids from the US and nighttime bombing raids by the Brits.
About the only thing they showed real skill at was wailing on sucker-punched neighbors and killing civilians. Plus the best German leaders kept getting executed by the Fuhrer – because they all tried to kill him – recognizing the Fuhrer as the primary reason for all of Germany’s ills.
A few historians have started to look at the Wehrmacht as one of the most overrated militaries in history – one that’s only fearsome because of snazzy uniforms and its own propaganda and the ideas it had that it didn’t manage to actually produce (Amerika bomber, Maus, etc.).
It was hardly a sucker punch when Germany took out France. France had plenty of warning. at one point neither side was doing anything and people were calling it Sitzkrieg which means sitting war instead of germany’s famous Blitzkrieg which means lightning war. When germany attacked through the ardennes forest the british and french military were pushed out in a couple weeks. the Allies only got their military out cause the british people sent in a bunch of dingys to pull them out at dunkirk. and paris fell a month after the initial invasion. Try reading a book sometime.
overrated? which is why they took all of europe and they almost beat Russia against huge odds. thats why they where feared so much. and why it took 4 years to push them back over territory they took in 2. idiot, Amerika’s military in WW2 was overrated. the sherman was crappy, to reload an m1 garand you had to empty its clip, the thompson M1A1 was heavy, complicated, and expensive to manufacture. and their standered lmg had a 20 round mag! Germany’s weaponry outclassed all others. Don’t rely on videogames.
Uh, actually you could reload the m1 without emptying the clip. Allies had the Buffalo swimming troop carrier, the tanks that shot flamethrowers (forget name) and destroyed mines… Allied surface ships and the navy in general were much better… I have to agree with the thompson, it was awkward, low range. The Bar had not enough power to compensate for the weight…MP40 and STG44 were much better, but came to late to normal troops.Only complaint is the MP40′s convieniant size sometimes caused soldiers to burn their hands, was fixed though… It took 4 years because britain needed to gain control of the skys before invading… we had better developments in radar and sonar equipment… Russians had the katayushia… the german infantry were not necessarily better, invasion of poland, they came walking behind tanks and planes… Karbiner was not a good rifle…
Seriously? You’re using COD and Axis and Allies as your historical source? Yes boys and girls don’t read a history book cuz that’s silly when you can get all of your historical ‘facts’ from video games. This is why teenagers should not be allowed to voice opinions.
The Americans (and Admiral Yamamoto) realized that superior armor and weapons count for nothing when you can build more tanks/ships/guns than the enemy can kill.
Actually, it wasn’t America out producing Germany. It Germany’s complete fail at industrial engineering. they were laughably incompetent at producing in any significant numbers at any kind of pace. Sometimes they couldn’t make more than a handful of tanks in a day. They would up struggling to hide their terrible lack of resources, but after the war there was a lot of surprise over their inferiority in production.
Germany simply couldn’t design a tank properly. It wasn’t until the British saved their plants and gave them new purposes, in particular with the great british VW bug’s industrialization, that Germany became the producer it has become today.
Germany, under the thumb of Britain, is a much better country. Much happier, and better able to make great things.
Now THAT I hear for the first time. Maybe the reason why I have such a hard time believing this is the hard failing the british industry did after WWII… The basic reasons for Germany losing WWII are three:
- Hitler was a moron and had no idea of how to properly command a military
- Germany was heavily outnumbered. For each german tank, there were at least four american or russian ones. There’s only so much quantity that can be balanced out by better equipment
- Germany lacked resources, which got particularly bad in the end of the war, when there was not even enough fuel to bring up interceptors against enemy bombers.
The germans desighned some of the best tanks of that time, but the german factories were overly precise and took too long. the russians had so many more partially because of their lack of precision in the making of the tanks
yeah…not so funny when you realize terrorists are actually known to use live animals as I.E.D’s…they can hide them in the animal…I forget how, but they do.
Usually they just use carcasses. Dogs are considered “unclean” and abused (at least in Iraq) and it’s easy enough slice one open and stuff it with a mortar round.
I didn’t see any live ones used, but I wouldn’t be surprised. The animal doesn’t have to live very long, after all – so cutting one open and stitching it back up doesn’t require much in the way of sanitary facilities or anesthesia.
Pack animals can always be strapped with explosives in saddlebags, too.
Exactly, Son I Am Disappoint. Idea is to kill. If not kill, severally wound mentally and physically. Think about it…coming back from something like that….kinda gonna make it hard to be around pet lovers….:(
True, but not in this case. It’s a pun on Improvised Explosive Devise, IED. The puppy is adorable, it seems to be a desert scene, with a soldier, mix them together, voila!

Because he’s bursting with cutes. And the puppy’s not bad either.
The explosive is POOP.
Those are landmines….
Ah, a german. You have to be jealous of those guys. G36′s are awesome.
at first i noticed the h&k g36, then the demotivational, haha. this weapon is much better than m4!
Yes, i totally agree with you.
Sadly, yes. But we will soon phase out the M4, with the SCAR or maybey the ACR.

Becouse spellcheck is a grammar nazi

and that attitude is exactly why germany lost WWII

Though the soviets did use puppies on them.

When the Soviets used the dogs, weren’t they strapping land mines to their backs and training them to run under tanks? Frag-mutts?
yes, it failed epicly, because the dogs were trained to hide under soviet tanks, routing an armoured division.

Can’t we all just agree that we were all good in our own ways?

Germany lost because of an stupid and ignorant Austrian.

More like 7+
Where did you learn about world War II?
IT’S A TRAP!
just thought id put it out there that this is a german soldier
Awwww……. puppy!!!
Awwww……..G36
Aww. That’s so-
Wait a moment… The puppy is the explosive? NNNNNOOOOO!

What I know is that dogs were used by Russians during the Cold War as bomb carriers.
Internal or externally carried?
Actually A.E.D. stands for automated external defibrillator.
True, but not in this case. It’s a pun on Improvised Explosive Devise, IED. The puppy is adorable, it seems to be a desert scene, with a soldier, mix them together, voila!

The guy who made this poster was kinda a major dumb@ss for mixing up a mobile lifesaving heart shocker and a homemade bomb. what a moron
It’s a play on words. Wake up, Luther.
