It’s not a church. It is a cult. Fred Phelps is the patriarch, and all the members of the cult are his family members, all 72 of them. They live in a walled-off compound in Topeka, don’t allow outsiders in, and fly the American flag upside down (besides dragging it around in the mud when they protest). I’m still waiting on the 72 lightning bolts from Heaven.

They are not even a cult. They are in reality, a lawsuit-mill. Fred’s daughter is a lawyer, and they try to antagonize people into doing or saying something to them, or about them, that they can litigate in a civil trial. They are just filthy, money grubbers.

They are NOT Primitive Baptist, none of our associations recognize their church, or support such beliefs. The reason they now claim to be Primitive Baptist, instead of Southern Baptist, is the southern baptists were going to sue the for slander for calling themselves southern baptists.
Several actual Primitive Baptists (myself included) have held up sheets between their protests and funerals (with permission of the families WE can be on cemetary property). We also drown them out with hymns (also after asking the families ok).

Christianity is the religion as a whole but the Protestants came from disillusioned Catholics.
Sam needs a history lesson. Catholicism came first. Originally Catholics and “christians” were synonymous. All other branches of Christianity are the off branches – hence the name protestants.

Funny story, they were in Oklahoma protesting a soldier’s funeral, and the tires on all their vehicles got slashed. They drove on flats into town, to find that none of the tire shops would fix them.

As a Christian, I’d would just like to say a few things:
1. I highly doubt anyone with this “church” is an actual Christian. What they’re preaching goes directly against Jesus’ teachings.
2. If they are Christians, they most definitely aren’t the norm. These people are on the outskirts of Christianity.

Yup! Fred Phelps (leader of WBC) was a hack ambulance chaser that failed at winning petty lawsuits. He now uses this offensive behavior to piss people off to the point where they strike him or one of his lawyer trained members so that he can turn around and sue both the person, and the city that “failed to protect them”. That’s why he says “God hates X”, and not “I hate X”. Looks pretty for the courtroom. Oh, and why else do you think he only spends 30 mins max in one area? That’s just enough time to troll the crowd, look pretty for the cameras, then hope there’s a lawlsuit.
Is he Christian? Yup. Does he believe what he says? Nope. Do LGBT groups and atheists fight against them? Yup. Do Christians claim they’re against him? Yup. Do Christians fight them? Nope. Does this make Christians equally accountable for their actions? You better believe it.

I actually know quite a few Christians who picketed against WBC. When those retards came out to protest the miners’ funerals in Charleston WV, an entire church stopped its service to come out and protest against them. Then one of my friends started a mass Rickroll. It was amazing.

If you followed the protests you would know that every protest the Phelps family does is counter protested, often times by the local American Legion or the Biker group (can’t remember their names) Though it’s often joined by others that want to protest against them, they do it to protect the families of the ones trying to have one last quiet moment with their fallen family member or friend.
Many members of the Patriot Guard Riders are Christians. I know one. Now that you’ve been proven wrong, you have some real begging to do, if you want your integrity back.

I have never really agreed much with the church, or any Christian I know about religion. Until now. Thank you. I understand what you’re saying exactly. We cant group these people with the rest of the “Christians.” (if they really ARE Christian, as you said.) All we have to know is that this group is wrong. They have the freedom to be wrong. Roughly 50 to 100% of all it’s messages is the same spam everywhere. Human-made or bot-made, that spamming is to be removed. (and mods did so in many comment sections already.)
