    • Omne says:

      U cant grammar good

      • Noseman says:

This goes to you and the comment above you. You don’t need to flip out because he made a minor typo. Everyone makes typos, it doesn’t mean their grammar fails. However, the demotivational above is not a typo.

        • Gaffer says:

They are* or they’re* grammar fails.

          • grammar police says:

No, Noseman had it right. He’s not talking about the person being a fail, he’s talking about their use of grammar.

            • Actually says:

Actually, if you read the entire sentence, you’ll notice that the subject of the sentence was not the person writing, but grammar, therefore the term should be

            • Exactly says:

Exactly- as you said, the subject is the grammar. This means that the term should have been they’re, not their, because their is possessive and grammar cannot own or use something.

This is because he is saying a typo is not a grammar fail. Placed in his context, it should have been ‘Everyone makes typos, it does not mean they are grammar fails.’

So, to summarize, both you and Noseman are wrong.

              • actually actually says:

You are correct their is possessive, but the grammar is not owning or using anything in the comment you think needs correcting. The grammar is being owned by people who make typos. Therefore ‘their’ is entirely correct.

Correcting it to they’re is just really terrible English. ‘fails’ is a verb not an adjective or noun so ‘they are fails’ makes no sense if we are talking about correct English. ‘they are grammar mistakes’ would make sense but otherwise it should definitely be ‘their’.

                • actually actually actually says:

You can use “their” in this sentence ONLY because he is speaking of one person and that person is the editor. And for that reason not only should the sentence not have been a run on sentence, it is perfectly correct with it’s usage of “their”. “They’re” wouldn’t have made any sense, I win.

            • Lachele says:

oh my gosh guys, who cares lol

            • Superdingo13 says:

Actually, it could be either “their” or “they’re”. First of all, it’s a run-on sentence and should have a semicolon instead of a comma. In the second phrase, the subject is “it” is the subject. “grammar” could be either another subject (if he meant “their”), or it could be describing “fails”, which would be a direct object (if he meant “they’re” that is).

        • Omne says:

As a fairly regular browser of the internet, and this site particularly, I am not unaccustomed to the inevitability of typos. I will just as willingly point out my own. But are you really saying that “Sucsessful” is spelled correctly?

          • BUFU says:

No, man, he just wanted to point out that this is not a typo but the guy who wrote this was serious about the s… and therefore is stupid.
            Get it now?

  5. Fred says:

If by “successful”, you mean “gets to play nothing but overglorified mobile sex-toys until she hits the forty-and-female wall like United Flight 93″.
