  1. Oliver says:

    they’re still amphibian, douche bag!

    • jou says:

look up “amphibian in a dictionary, would you

    • Nygma says:

Amphibian – A cold-blooded vertebrate animal of a class (Amphibia) that comprises the frogs, toads, newts, and salamanders, distinguished by having an aquatic gill-breathing larval stage followed (typically) by a terrestrial lung-breathing adult stage.

As much as I’d love to see a baby turtle with gills, I just don’t think it’s in the cards.

      • pft says:

If we wanna get technical, they have hands not flippers, making them tortoises. Unfortunately, teenage mutant ninja tortoises just doesn’t roll off the tongue.

      • Gavin says:

        am·phib·i·an (m-fb-n)
        n.
        1. A cold-blooded, smooth-skinned vertebrate of the class Amphibia, such as a frog or salamander, that characteristically hatches as an aquatic larva with gills. The larva then transforms into an adult having air-breathing lungs.
        2. An animal capable of living both on land and in water.

    • Chuck says:

      amphibious =/ amphibian

      • bere says:

        Not true.
Ok you could make a case that she’s using it in its adjective form, but that doesn’t fit in the sentence structure. She clearly says ‘amphibians’ as opposed to ‘amphibian animals’ meaning she’s using its noun form. Which is wrong.

        I hate myself.

    • Your an idiot says:

you made yourself look as dumb as that girl…congrats

  2. wittlepup says:

Shut up! Can’t you see she’s hot?!

  3. Chaophim says:

I wish she were the co-host of Martha Stewart’s show… Then she could stick to making sammiches and leave the big words alone.

  4. jou says:

Perhaps she is sick and tired of turtles, how about teenage mutant ninja frogs..? or newts…

  5. Fantastico says:

The nerd rage over Candace Bailey replacing Olivia Munn on AOTS is unending.

  6. SethQ says:

Maybe she wants a Battletoads TV show

  7. Shairlyn says:

Turtles are anapsids, they predate reptiles. They’re a category all of their own.

  8. Zuchini says:

    Fail biology forever…

  9. Phlip says:

Well, there’s the scientific definition of “amphibian”, for animals in the class Amphibia, which definitely doesn’t include turtles. But there’s also the casual definition of the word, which is just anything that can live/operate/whatever on land and in the water, which *does* include turtles.

Just like how people will refer to beetles and such as “bugs” even though they’re not Hemiptera. The words have a wider casual use than their scientific definitions.

    • Vanaathiel says:

I’ve never heard amphibian refer to turtles, even casually. Perhaps you are thinking of amphibious? Either way, she is wrong.

      • Casprd says:

Where is she wrong? Because you assume she’s talking about mutant ninja turtles? Yet her tweet doesn’t say turtles.

        • Orly says:

When someone can find that mysterious show about teenage mutant martial art-trained AMPHIBIANS she wishes there was more of, then you will mave a point.

But my guess is such a show dosen’t exist, so she is indeed a freaking idiot as turtles are never referd to as amphibians.

      • Mecord says:

Try the old TMNT cartoon. They refer to themselves as amphibian all the time. Probably why so many people refer to turtles as amphibian.

        • Layla19 says:

This made me mad when I was little. I remember the episode I stopped watching- the turtles are crossing a street, nearly get hit by Shredder’s van, Raphael shouts, “Pedestrians have the right of cross!” And then Shredder says, “Pedestrians, yes. Amphibians, no!” I stopped watching immediately and have never gone back.

      • Deekay723 says:

Really? So, then, you’ve never seen the movies, in which they refer to themselves as amphibians?

    • geekgirl says:

Yeah, but “bug” is used for pretty loosely for almost any anthropod, where as amphibian is a pretty specific term. I’ve never heard anyone use amphibian casually the way you’re describing it.
Is bug even a scientific term? I always assumed it wasn’t.

  10. paulblume says:

who says she”s talking about turtles?

Maybe she just really likes Ghengis Frog or Napolean Bonafrog.

  11. rellly says:

    Battletoads!

  12. supson says:

    BIKER MICE FROM MARS !!!

  13. Hunter Cole says:

you realize she knows about turtles bieng reptiles but she was saying if turtles get they’re own show then why not amphibians, idiots

    • Layla19 says:

It depends; if she emphasizes MORE shows, then she’d be saying there are already shows featuring amphibians like that; if she emphasized “amphibians” then your interpretation is correct. I’d have to hear the clip.

  14. goatiewan says:

i can’t believe someone beat me to the punch with Battletoads

  15. Vanaathiel says:

I once had a grade 10 BIOLOGY teacher who didn’t know whether or not turtles had skeletons….*sigh* what a world we live in :(

    • Humm. says:

Huh… Didn’t think they could be so poorly educated when they’re specialized in the subject. I remember having an elementary school teacher that I had to explain to that turtles have skeletons, but that’s slightly more understandable than your case.

  16. Moosetahkrakish says:

Turtles are Reptiles. Along with Tuataras (Which are an almost extinct species because of breeding troubles and of how long it takes for them to mature) Crocodiles/alligators, Lizards and snakes. Amphibians are cold-blooded animals much like Reptiles which transform/ use metamorphosis to change through their stages of life. Turtle lay eggs, which hatch hatchling turtles, which then just grow up into large turtles. They do no metamorphosize, if that’s even a word(But I doubt it).

And no I didn’t google that, I study herpetology. ( Study of reptiles and amphibians)

So the poster is right, now stop starting a flame war over EVERYTHING IN EXISTENCE. You babies.

    • Chic (creator) says:

      Moose…my hero! <3

Also, why are my posts taking so long to get through moderation? Geesh. I didn't even use any bad language. :P And I'm not a Candace Bailey hater. I simply found something dumb someone said, and had to make fun of it. Just sayin.'

    • wait what? says:

HERPetology. That’s what most people on the internet study.

    • Orly says:

But again, there are humans making beauty tv-shows about metamorphosis, thus, you argument is fully valid. (Because those tv-shows are irrelevant.)

    • Mecord says:

Ah, but what if the turtles come into contact with a mutegenic substance and mutate into half-humans, and in the process also become amphibians? I mean it’s a show where a brain from another dimension uses tentacles to operate his robot body. Why can’t the mutant turtles be amphibians?

  17. Blooble says:

    Heeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrps.

  18. Annon says:

Whoever created this should take it down. The whole point of what thay lady was saying is that she has seen the TMNT and liked it, and hopes more shows similar to it will come out. I looked that up, it’s a fact, but you can see that just by looking at the picture. Yes, she made a mistake. Turtles are not amphibians, but the creator has made a bigger mistake. I find this extremely offensive. You have called her dumb, amongst much worse things when she has made a small error. You have also made an error is misreading it AND have said terrible things about her, thus putting you in the wrong and her in the right. Please take this down.

    • ch1c says:

Clearly, you are new to this whole “internet” thing.

    • Centrifugal_Aardvark says:

Thank you, Annon. I was hoping somebody would make these points.

In my view, this particular Demotivational qualifies for Failblog.

    • Madara the Reaper says:

Welcome to the internet, be sure to take the stick out of your ass upon entering. Thank you and have a nice day you overly sensitive prick. :D

      • Centrifugal_Aardvark says:

How kind of you to wish me a nice day! You, too!

        • Annon says:

Just because this is the internet and you guys have all your rules about how nothing is good doesn’t mean that you have permission to slander and bag out people who make small mistakes. I know you call it trolling, just like the whole thing with ‘Friday’ but sometimes you have to step away from your own ammusment and actually think of others for a change. You call me overly sensative – when you are on the receiving end of something like this, you won’t be calling me over sensitive.

  19. M says:

She’s illiterate and has no on-screen personality. How many people did she have to service to get the hosting gig? At least Sara underwood is easy on the eyes. I’ll never understand G4′s reasoning.

    • Devi says:

They’re a dying channel going the route of MTV – Less of the original programming (Games, Gadgets, Girls, and Geek? I honestly never figured out the fourth G, but that’s how I heard them reference it before). They want something to attract viewers, even if just for a second. Poor Kevin. He was always my favourite part of the shows.

  20. steve says:

I want to believe she was talking about BattleToads .

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battletoads

  21. Da DeViL says:

you guys still need to read. she says MORE, so she wants more shows like TMNT

    • N0rthsideDonutz says:

I still have no idea why you guys are defending her, it’s not like you personally know her. I’m sure there’s more things to worry about in the world than the dignity of some bimbo. +3 internetz for this dude for using the phrase “ho-bag”. You’re cool in my book.

      • Rahzy says:

I still have no idea why you guys are bashing her, it’s not like you personally know her. I’m sure there are more things to worry about in the world than the insulting of a random woman. -3 common sense for this dude using the phrase “bimbo”. You’re not cool in anyone’s book.

  22. Thatoneguy says:

Turtles have flippers, tortoises have feet. Michaelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello are all tortoises not turtles. You dumb ho bag.

  23. Mr.Giggles says:

Didn’t the TMNT always claim they were amphibians? Like Shredder would say, “Blasted reptiles!” and one of them would come back with, “We’re amphibians, dude! Pizza time cowabunga radical!”

  24. Aaron says:

She was referring to Battle Toads Idiots.

  25. odaat10 says:

Aaallllll these posts debating a silly issue, and she’s the idiot?

  26. greeta says:

She doesn’t know the fairly specific scientific definitions for all different kinds of scaly creatures? Yeah, she must be a ‘ho’. Oh my God shut up you self righteous know-it-alls.

    • Layla19 says:

It’s only differentiating between amphibians and reptiles, which many of us learned in elementary school. No one’s expecting her to know the genus of everything.

  27. v. says:

Turtles are amphibians, you guys are all idiots!

  28. LordofFayle says:

You forgot the Teenage Mutant Ninja frogs that were also mutated and had other artists names (appeared in several episodes)

  29. Carl Carlson says:

    Who cares? She’s good looking.

  30. Galaick says:

She was trolling, and you’re stupid for falling for it

  31. dinasaurhed says:

Turtles have flippers. Tortoises have feet.

  32. Sarah says:

At what point was it decided that not knowing the categories of sea creatures made you dumb? That’s not exactly common knowledge. It’s rather like saying someone is a “dumb ho bag” because they use the phrase “The end of that movie was anti climatic” (Which EVERYONE knows is totally incorrect because “climatic” means “having to do with the climate”. Obviously they mean anti climactic, those morons.) It’s a common mistake that has absolutely nothing to do with your intelligence and everything to do with how much time you spend soaking up relatively useless information. Making a mistake doesn’t make you an idiot.

  33. g33k-ch1c says:

I didn’t realize my small attempt at trolling would spark such a heated debate.

Also, “ho-bag” was just the insult that popped into my head at the time. Feel free to substitute “broad,” “hose-beast,” or various British-type slang terms that I can’t post here. It’s not a jab at Candace specifically; I would have made fun of anyone that referred to turtles as amphibians. In fact, in third grade, I was corrected by my teacher for wrongly classifying a turtle as an amphibian in class, probably due to incorrect information I acquired from watching TMNT as a kid.

    C’mon, people. It’s the internet.

  34. ace5762 says:

ooh, epic fail. Turtles are amphibians. Tortoises are reptiles.

  35. cosB says:

RAWR YOU SHOULD NO BETTER THAN TO TAKE GUESSES ON THE INTERNET!

  36. Rizz Rustbolt says:

Still smarter than the one she replaced.

  37. Rusted dishwasher says:

I’ve learned this fact a while ago from watching over the hedge, verne never lets people forget which kingdom he is from.

  38. FogHorn says:

she is just another peace of eye candy, that that stupid show trades out ever other month for another.

  39. Leghorn says:

Someone CLEARLY wishes there was a Battle Toads TV show.

  40. Legoandsprit says:

Haven’t any of you watched Over The Hedge? That was the one thing I learned, Turtles are Reptiles.

  41. Jon says:

DOES IT MATTER??? I’m sure there are plenty of people in this world that think reptiles and amphibeans are synonomous. Is it bothering you? Who cares? Just enjoy the view, people.

  42. Trogdoor says:

Reason #482748932 why G4 should die a slow and horrible death for what they did to TechTV

    God I miss The ScreenSavers…

  43. Laurel says:

Wow… Does anybody notice the word, “More” in the quote? As in another show like TMNT? If she was being dumb and implying that she doesn’t know about TMNT she would have said she wishes there was A show instead of MORE shows, with an S at the end.

  44. gtbaker says:

Hey, until a quick wiki-search, I thought turtles were amphibians too. Y’know, the whole breathing-underwater thing… Still, Candace Bailey must’ve REALLY pissed this guy off.

  45. Me says:

there was a battle toads tv show, it just didnt go far. Check youtube for the intro.

  46. Sci says:

I think it’s pretty obvious that she was not talking about the ninja turtles. Surely, she was speaking of the Adolescent Mutant Kung-fu Frogs.

  47. CaptSpanky says:

Who said she was talking about the turtles? Maybe she likes the Punk Frogs better, which in that case the creator of this poster is the “dumb ho-bag”
