That it is because it was originally a riddle, but it became so well known it became a fairy tale instead.

At the end of the rhyme, the question asked was “What was Humpty Dumpty?” and the listener would have to guess, what is it that once it falls from a wall can’t be put back together again? The answer was an egg.
But once that became common knowledge, there was no point asking the question anymore.
The -implication- was that the listener would solve for “Humpty-Dumpty”, though the question was not directly asked. But otherwise you are correct.
No, it didn’t become a fairy tale, it became a nursery rhyme.
Humpty Dumpty was a powerful cannon during the English Civil War (1642-49). It was mounted on top of the St. Mary’s at the Wall Church in Colchester
And I think they shot this guy out of that cannon.

Looks like they got him about 2 feet out from the wall…That must have been a VERY powerful cannon.
“Humpty dumpty” was also a 17th-century beverage of brandy boiled with ale, and 18th-century slang for a clumsy person; although, like the siege weapon, these have little or nothing to do with the riddle/nursery rhyme.
I look at this and can’t help but think of that episode of Family Guy when Peter wishes he didn’t have any bones lol

How do people even get this fat? I’m sort of chunky myself, but this couldn’t be possible unless someone was helping this person! Someone this fat couldn’t go to the store or dress him/herself unless someone helped them.
Could this be why he’s naked?
One way to gain a lot of weight really fast is to have your thyroid stop working. I know, my sister’s thyroid stop working and she gained over 60 lbs in 2 months with barely eating anything. Your metabolism slows down so much that anything you eat stays with you. THEN, you’ve got to convince a doctor that you have a problem. Don’t get me started on that!
Yeah, thyroid problems run in my family. Mine is overactive though, which is good because i stay thin but bad because i need to buy more food
That’s not how metabolism works. If you are burning less than you are eating, you will get fatter. If eating “anything” makes you fatter, you are not burning anything. If you claim they are eating very little, not being lazy, and are still gaining weight, that is impossible due to the fact that a metabolism that slow would cause almost instant death.
Yeah, and if you are hypothyroid, it *can* eventually cause death. Do a little research and don’t act like you know what you are talking about.

the body seems dramatically out of proportion, who carries 90% of their weight on the front half of their body in that manner?

Thanks jen. I wasn’t sure if it was a real person, so this explains it. That’s a pretty striking sculpture. I wonder what John Isaacs’ mom thinks after she put him through art school and he shows her that… “that’s nice, honey”.

I believe that this picture is actually of a woman who committed suicide…maybe it should be taken down.
I believe you should read some other posts. It’s a sculpture by John Isaacs, and I don’t think that that could be real unless that person just had major liposuction and kept all their skin.
