I am getting tired of the “not as gay as Twilight” jokes. While Twilight deserves mocking, gay people don’t. Whenever you choose to mock someone by calling them gay, you are saying that being gay is a bad thing. Even if you don’t truly believe there is anything wrong with being gay, it sounds like you do and it contributes to the overall perception. Gay teenagers commit suicide because they are treated with so much cruelty. I, for one, don’t want to be part of that.
