Well if you can make someones hard drive or cd drive spin really really really fast, and cause a CPU / GPU to overheat massivly and disable all their safety features that insta shut off your computer when it reaches a certain temperature….then you might be able to get some sort of a small “boom” so yes, it does seem legit.
