    is there an agree?

    • Ferrus Manus says:

It’s a shame they never made anything after Final Fantasy X. Reminds me of how they never made more than The Matrix. Would’ve liked to have seen a trilogy come outta that.

      • Elder fanboy party says:

        :this:

      • goldengoalie11 says:

No one that played this game played it to it’s full extent. If you did you would have realized that it has an extremely in depth weapon creation system, an awesome storyline with one of the best endings in a Final Fantasy game, and an awesome cast of characters. I’ve played and beaten every Final Fantasy game to date with the exception of XI and I can honestly say that after mastering XIII I felt more accomplished and pleased than after I beat VII, VIII, and IX. I love every game they have come out with, but nobody gave thirteen a fighting chance because it was “too linear”. Go outside the storyline scumbags. Get to Pulse and find out what the game is really about before trolling these message boards.

        • TheVincinator says:

RPGs have to have a solid story if they’re to work, genius. I played the whole damned entirety of XIII and felt like my intelligence was being insulted the entire time.

        • rickicker says:

Oh yeah, suuuuuure! Suffer for 40 hours of bad video game to get to a passable-to-good RPG! Of course! Why didn’t I think of that? It’s so obvious!

        • Xweetara says:

The storyline is the reason I even play RPGs. I don’t find it fun if I can’t get involved.

        • towns says:

Its funny because you don’t say you actually played VI at all, so really, you have no idea what a good RPG is.

          • goldengoalie11 says:

Of course I played VI you jackass. I’ve played every canon Final Fantasy game that they’ve come out with except for XI, and beaten all of them except for III. And I can say that XIII is among the top along with the original Final Fantasy, VI, VII, and X. Why choose when they’re all so awesome. I haven’t seen one good reason for people to dislike XIII in scanning these posts, and I’m not sure how it insulted your intelligence. It’s as much if not less grinding than any other Final Fantasy games and has the most real characters in maybe any game I’ve played. It was refreshing to have a character like Hope that hated Snow as opposed to every single person wanting to join a ridiculous cause in VI. The only thing binding the characters together is their shared misfortune. How people thought the storyline sucked is beyond me. Watching real characters change without having to suffer through a coma (the most ridiculous and annoying situation ever) because of the relationships they develop in a common struggle is awesome. Cloud was nothing more than an amnesiac badass with a big sword, and I love him for that, but it was nice to have characters that I actually cared about as opposed to an endless array of filler characters that I just use because they look cool. The game had more than enough content to keep anyone with an invested interest entertained, was difficult enough to challenge even someone who has mastered every other Final Fantasy game, and a rewarding character and weapon creation system that made even Final Fantasy X’s leveling system look dated, except that they all could have been expanded and slightly less linear. I’m not saying that it’s the best Final Fantasy game, I’ve already stated that it’s part of a long list, but it shouldn’t be shunned just because most people were too lazy to get the most out of it.

            • lulz says:

Hope is a bumbling kid who makes angry animal noises whenever he tries to talk to Snow. Real smooth in conveying your hatred sonny. So far in the time I have given up to this game, I have learned next to NOTHING. What the hell is Ragnarok?? Is it like the Norse legend or something different?? I’m not exactly bright, but I’m not a total moron to not be able to decipher FF type stuff which is notorious for leaving plot holes that we seem to just accept as we play. Hell I think Final Fantasy Legend III had a better story than 13 and that was FOR GAMEBOY. I knew exactly what was going on from start to end. Actually, all the FF games I’ve played seem to do that with the exception of 13.

              • goldengoalie11 says:

Finish the game before you start complaining about the storyline. It all makes plenty of sense, within it’s own world of course, and ends up being a pretty rewarding story. I’m not saying everyone will love it, but the gameplay, the thing that truly matters, is far too good to have this game hated on so much.

      • Dr Islands says:

        ^This.

      • XX3 says:

O_O REMEMBER X2!!!!!!!!!!! REMEMBER IT!!!!!!!!!!! REMEMBER SO IT WILL NEVER BE REPEATED!!

        IT SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED

      • Some guy says:

Come on, XII was fun, and don’t forget that there’s more than just the main series. both Dissidia games were amazing, we had Tactics A-2, FFF: Chocobo’s Dungeon, and Chocobo Tales before that was cute. Revnant Wings was mediocre, but at least they tried RTS. I’ll admit the other 2 VII games were bad. And, of course, all the Crystal Chronicles games were after X. Looking forward to the 3DS music game coming out in Japan.

    • Cloymax says:

      disagree.

  2. Dojoharmony says:

truth is, If Square kept it a little more old school on the battlefield rather than fully automatic-just-choose-loosely-what-they-do approach, they would get more new fans AND stop losing the old ones.

    • TheyCallMeTomu says:

I like my linear gameplay experience thank you very much!

::Goes back to moping that there will never be a Xenosaga 4::

    • 13thPip says:

Unfortunately, there is more money when catering to the casual gamers. Casual gamers want something shiny and easy to use. It sucks when we’re not the target market anymore.

  3. 00j666 says:

    aw, come on.
    it wasn’t THAT bad

    • Madara the Reaper says:

      You are indeed correct.
It could have been Final Fantasy XII *Shudders*

Still Final Fantasy 3,6,7 and 9 will always be the best in my book

      • Bex says:

I love both VIII and XII and prefer them both over IX and X. So yeah.

      • so says:

        XII >>>>> X

        Enough said.

3 wasn’t that good either, but 4, 6 and 7 were the best. 9 was great for a lot of reasons, but there’s also a lot of things I didn’t like about it, kinda like 8.

      • lulz says:

I disagree. FF12 was a break from the traditional battle screen nonsense that we all have a love/hate relationship with. Yeah it wasn’t perfect as the gambit system was broken, how Vaan and Penelo even should even exist as main characters should be debated, the story took a turn to the WTF and the whole spell casting turn/lag thing was a pain but it was still a great game. FF 4, 7, 9 and 12 will always be my picks.

  4. K says:

    Damn Straight!!!

  5. somebody says:

13 was way too linear for my taste.. might as well just watch a movie..

    • phades says:

With the amount of cinematics it had, it might as well have been one. 12 was better.

      • Failpro says:

With the example given, that ME 1 and 2 had too much cinematics for my taste, how fares 12 or 13?

FF8 was okayish, FF9 started up SLOW on the story, but built up greatly (although the character constraits werre to hate).

        • phades says:

12 had more plot sequences, but you weren’t strictly on a railroad with frequent FMV cut scenes. It has its fair share of them, but it is nothing like 13.

    • Slim says:

I played 13 for 8 hours and I was still in a tutorial. There is something seriously wrong with that.

      • Tristam says:

The problem with this isn’t that you were in the tutorial 8 hrs into the game, it’s that you realised you were still in the tutorial 8 hrs into the game. Technicly speaking, a good game is going to introduce new and interesting concepts for the majority of the game, and force you to learn them, then integrate them into your gameplay. The problem comes when you REALISE that you are still in a tutorial, or that you were ever in one at all.

        • Seal64 says:

Well, there’s nothing wrong with a game having an obvious tutorial stage – most Zelda games since OoT do that. But at least it’s obvious that it’s a tutorial and it’s obvious when that is done with. As long as they’re brief, that’s okay.

  6. Lucas says:

The problem with all this games today is that the corporations such Capcom and others just care about how “realistic” a graphic visual can be, no matter how stupid, cliche and boring the storyline is. There’s no more development of the characters and even of the story itself. Just high definition with low or no one quality in the plot. So sad….

    • jack says:

yeah I agree, skyrim is crap, battlefield 3 is crap, mass effect is also crap with high def graphic

      • wat says:

bro you did NOT just insult skyrim. What exactly is it about skyrim that is lesser to any other single player RPG? Please, enlighten me. Cuz I got nothin’.

        • CBekmont says:

I think he was being sarcastic.

          • Dr Islands says:

Seems likely. Skyrim is a well-done game, battlefield 3 is another shooter (but looks unique from what I’ve seen), and mass effect was all about the story.
            Hence, sarcasm.
            -Captain Obvious

        • asdf@hotmail.com says:

morrowind was better, the graphics were worse yes, and i didn’t really like the way that your attacks missed alot if you sucked, but atleast it wasn’t so easy to kill everything that moves, and you actually had to fear pissing off the town guards. plus the magic system so so much beter. this last complaint isn’t anything that anyone really cares about but it be awesome if they’d bring back the option to wear a robe over your armor.

    • John says:

Oh NO you didn’t say that! – Mass Effect and Skyrim are the biggest RPGs I’ve seen so far and believe me, I was there when Final Fantasy VII and VIII came out, I’m not a kid.

Final Fantasy it’s just an awfully big mountain of cliches since 1998, that does not means that RPGs are simply going down the drain. Mass Effect created an entire Universe, George Lucas would be proud damn it.

Stop this nostalgic crap, it ain’t going nowhere.

    • Charlotte says:

While I agree with you’re overall point Lucas, IMO some of Capcom’s DS games (Phoenix Wright series and Ghost Trick) are great examples of how a game can have a brilliant story without having ultra-realistic graphics, so that example seems a bit counter-intuitive..

  7. secondsabre says:

Also, that’s clearly Terra from FF6. Which means 1994. Not sure if trolling, or….

  8. Megz says:

    Very true.

  9. Zigmover says:

I actually thought the game was good.

    • Baldy says:

It had a really deep plot that was very enjoyable, however, the gameplay is what I disliked. You had little to no freedom to move around the world until late in the game. Also you were stuck in teams of 2 or 3 for most of the game. So you couldn’t do much for party configuration. The plot and the graphics were both beautiful though. That’s just my opinion, of course.

  10. si says:

i find 2011 a lot easier to masturbate to though…

  11. Tim says:

Terra is from 1994. Not 1992.

  12. Will says:

I can name that 16 bit sprite.
I can not name that CG character.

  13. plexus says:

    We’ve gone a long way, haven’t we? A looong way… *strong-community-feeling*

  14. Phoenix says:

    FFX > All!

  15. kyayokh says:

why compare it with lightning? isn’t Terra comes in Dissidia?

  16. MikeHawk says:

ff 13 isn’t that bad but 7 is the best

    • Reality says:

Wrong on both counts 13 sucked and 6 was the best

      • phades says:

Yeah, the top 5 of the series goes something to the effect of 6, 4, 7, 8, 12.

7 has more memorable characters to be sure, but if we are talking about the actual game with plot, then others did it better.

        • Cronjo says:

I personally wouldn’t have even ranked them in that order, but 6 def. tops my list as well… and 7 well somehow the series got a major case of gender confusion with the prettiest Villain to ever grace a RPG, and lets not even start with the main character’s cross dressing. 8!.. I felt it was horrible myself.

        • Madara the Reaper says:

I prefer 4 mostly because it had a truly intriguing Villain, Golbez.
          Cecil’s older bro

          • phades says:

The point could be argued for 6 or 4, but I think the game setup of 6 had more overal depth to it compared to 4. This is why I put it in the front. The plot line of 4 was probably a little better due to how the world evolves over time, including the characters and give meaning and reason to their changes. Golbez was more of an anti-hero though posing as a villan. Great character overal though. Kefka on the otherhand was just an insane clown without a posse posing as a bad*ss.

        • Dragon says:

Always been a bigger fan of 9 than any of the others, really under appriciated that game.

      • 7godeohs says:

        Double true.

  17. Hello says:

it wasn’t that bad, i will never stop being a fan, it’s just most held it to such high expectations that it was kinda a let down

  18. Cain says:

    Terra FF6 1994, Lightning FF12 2011
they at least could have used a screenshot from FF Dissidia for Terra

    • Mithrik says:

Dude, Lightning is from FF13, not FF12.

    • rahzy says:

Yes….. but then they would’ve lost the whole point of the ‘Graphics Upgrade’ comment altogether. Dissida also suffers from ‘pretty pictures, pointless plot’ syndrome.

      • phades says:

Could have just used pictures of both from dissidia instead of one vs the other though…

      • lulz says:

C’mon Dissidia was just a fanboy service and we bought into it. I did and IT IS GLORIOUS. I’ve always wanted to play a fighting style game with FF characters and there it is. Plot? What plot? I CAN HAVE CLOUD AND SQUALL FIGHT EACH OTHER! and whoever wins gets the title of “most angst” kekekekeke

  19. osaka says:

    Well, they mean 1 thing
    *faps*

  20. Sasuke14 says:

    FFXIII bashing? Really?

    • Madara the Reaper says:

Yeah really. If we don’t learn from our mistakes then we’re bound to repeat the crap fest.

      Anyone remember FFXIV!?!

      • Jiro says:

Those two can’t even be compared.

People hate on FFXIII the same way people hate on Dragon Age II. They’re both still great games, but for some reason, people just jumped on the “crap game” bandwagon early, plugged their ears, and got pretty comfy.

FFXIII is my second-favorite FF, after FFVIII. Yes, you read that right. Thank you, and good night.

        • Sapiento says:

Finally someone who isn’t trying to be a hipster and hating on everything new. Your post is the only one i can agree on.

        • Dr Islands says:

Y’know you make a good point. As I think I said in another post, the two can’t really be compared because they’re different kinds of games–the only real comparison one can make is whether they enjoyed it or not.
I admit I’ve bashed FFXIII more than it deserves; it really isn’t a bad game, I guess the problem I (and others I’m sure) have is how far Square-Enix seems to be leaning away from the magic that put them on the map in the first place. Sorry for contributing to the mindlessness. *bows humbly*

        • lulz says:

I actually had high expectations for this game. I really did. I thought it was gonna be a better 12 which was awesome in my opinion. As soon as I heard the names for these characters I had a bad feeling. 60 bucks later and three replays to the same part I left off every time due to lack of a grasp of WTF is going on, I felt wronged and confused. I honestly tried to understand what was going on. It’s just not happening. I have to beat the game because I bought it, but I’m basically forcing myself onto it. Sorry man, I just don’t like the game. No hipster.

      • Chris Smith says:

It’s so good, they’re making a second version. Good thing they never charged me or I might have been pissed.

      • Dr Islands says:

Oh god. Please, never speak of it again.
        *shudders*

        • phades says:

          FFX-2 was worse though…

          • Dr Islands says:

Well they’re not really comparable. XIV *twitch* was an attempt *twitch* at an MMORPG that failed miserably and still makes me twitch at how many basic things they got wrong.
X-2 is ungodly too, but it was a horrendous RPG without the MMO aspect. I’m not sure which is worse, because I can’t really compare them.
            But still.
            *twitch*

  21. Kolo says:

Well, if you people would put your silly nostalgia from the 90s down, you would realize that even the original is pretty bad. Seriously, we actually have writers who can tell coherent stories in video games now, and people still cry for the idiocy that is old JRPGs.

  22. Brant says:

    damn straight

  23. Dibbz says:

First thought on seeing the top image:
    Terraria.

  24. Shane says:

Seriously, have none of you heard of Wikipedia for fact-checking? At least some people mentioned that the top graphic was from a game released in 1994, not 1992. THAT is Terra from Final Fantasy VI (or Final Fantasy III if you believe the label on the SNES game). The one on the bottom is Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII, but it WAS NOT released in 2011, it was released in Japan in 2009, and in the US and most of the rest of the world in 2010.

My question: if so many of you can’t even figure out what game the bottom character is from, how on earth can you judge it, and why was this poster made in the first place? Score one for the trolls, I suppose.

And if you think that Dissidia is the first place that Terra showed up in, you are too freaking young to play that game.

If you want the Final Fantasy games to get better, grow up. They play to their audience, you know. And if you knew anything about the game, really, you would know about the 60+ side quests, and would have beaten the Long Gui. They are merging the cinematic capabilities of today with the previous RPG layout, and with the “auto-battle” feature are trying to make a compromise to get in new gamers. Also, if you knew what you were talking about, you would know that there are SEVERAL creatures that you fight in the game where you have to manually load commands in order to win, just like the old style. Could the game have been better? Sure? Name me one game that could not be improved upon in some way, shape, or form, though.

But, I still can’t believe that so many of you are harping on a game that you don’t even know the number of. Your argument is invalid.

  25. Teratus says:

    haha this is soo true

Lately Final fantasys have been soo bad i’ve refused to own them

what they gain in beautiful graphics they loose in storyline and essence

    these enw games are aweful

  26. Mizzinno says:

The likes are at 1337, now what do I do?…

  27. Umm says:

    1. FFXIII is a quite good (not great) game when not compared to the previous ones in the series. All the time people say they love FF games for the story so that’s XIII focused entirely on. Hence it was extra linear and people hate it, the mechanics, plot and design were great, though.
    2. FFX-2 actually is basically the exact opposite, and still a very good game if people could get their heads out of the asses and stop harping on it being all girls. It had the most diverse combat system of any FF and was probably the toughest one they ever made.
    3. Comparing Western style and more traditional RPGs doesn’t always work. Skyrim and Mass Effect are great, but they’re way different from traditional styled games. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

    /endrant

    • phades says:

      1) The mechanics were bad. Push 1 button half mindlessly and walk to the next enemy endlessly and occasionally switch roles briefly. It was a spam fest nothing more. It has no quest structure, side plots, or challenge until you get to the evolution fights and even then most of them are wholly focused on character level rather than tactics. Bad system by design.

      2) It is not simply because they are girls, but because they don’t act like believable girls. Also, since you think 13 had good game mechanics it comes as no surprise that you thought X-2 was good as well since they used THE SAME SYSTEM. Both were bad and not because they were action input orientated. 11 and 12 are both action input orientated and good, while x-2 and 13 are bad. I mean seriously, having fights hinge on having the right dress sphere setup and switching through them as fast as possible is good game design? Lol…. Also, you have not played anything prior to FFX if you think X-2 is the hardest game they put forward. FFV and FFIII hold those titles, unless you count four white mage party setup in FFI as a valid comparison.

      3) In what universe are “western” rpgs not “traditional”? JRPGS are the non-”traditional” ones. You have to set a standard first (western rpg) before you can have a non-standard one (JRPG). Quantity does not create a standard either.

  28. lolwat? says:

Japanese gaming industry as a whole is shell of its former self. The west dominates the world in gaming now.

I liked jrpgs as a kid but I grew tired of the teenage or angst/broody hero. That and the story usually being around saving the world. How about an rpg where you destroy/conquer the world? Or one where you kill the hero from the last game?

Japanese developers hesitate from taking risks and that’s what hurt them.

  29. Katsu Aoki says:

FFXIII was beautifully made but I found it a shame that it was very linear.
However, FFXIII-2 is the only Xbox 360 Game I have looked forward to in the past year.

  30. T3hArb1t3r says:

    screw FF, ChronoCross FTW!

  31. memebasejunkie says:

Having played both games and loved both in their own way, I still enjoyed XIII more. XIII felt like a much more immersive experience thanks to the photorealistic graphics, expressive and dynamic characters, expansive setting, and soundtrack, regardless of how linear it was. Additionally, I found the paradigm system in XIII made for a very fluid combat experience, varied enough by the pinpoint timings of switching between healing/attacking paradigms to make it more than simple button mashing.

VI, to give credit where credit is due, holds the title (for me, anyway) of “Most Beautiful Scene” with its famous Opera House scene. I never did finish VI, as I got lost after the catastrophe and didn’t have the interest to continue. And that’s where I didn’t mind the linearity of XIII, I would never get lost or frustrated because I didn’t know where to go or what to do. It was never a dull moment.

  32. Repost says:

Wow. This community never ceases to amaze me. What a bunch of whiners. So we all like different games. Get over it and go back to bashing on Mac users and making jokes about taking an arrow to the knee.

  33. Ryan says:

Fap fap fap fap…graphical upgrades have their upside.

  34. Travis says:

    Fail, that 1992 sprite didn’t exist until 1994. 1992 is FF5 came out, she’s from FF6

  35. DDDDavo says:

Going to simplify, and point out to the would be, FF geniuses, who think the people bashing XIII are simply new to the franchise, that old fans have certain opinions, too.

Played every major release of FF. 1-14, Tactics, CC, and some of the other minor ones too.

1 and 2 weren’t amazing at all, but can not be knocked by any true fans. It is where it all started.

3 started to get good, 4 is when stuff started to get epic.

10 was the beginning of the end, great game, but that’s when it started to get too linear. I will not even mention X-2.

11 was an MMO, doesn’t count. But I liked it, myself.

Tactics was absolutely incredible in my opinion, although I know some will disagree.

    12 was…. decent.

13 would have been an OK game, had it not been given the title Final Fantasy, because it was certainly not like any of the old FFs I had enjoyed.

    14 sucked.

Bluntly stated, in comparison to MOST of the other FF games… 13 did, indeed, suck… horribly… And this is coming from someone who holds a collection of unopened copies (minus 1 and 2 :( ) of every one of the aforementioned games, including 13, simply for my love of the franchise.

    • DDDDavo says:

I also want to add, that I did not specifically mention anything in the range from 4-10 simply because, for most die-hard FF fans (including myself), their favorites lie within this spectrum… I did not want to start a “No this one is better” flame war.

      • Repost says:

Did you really play EVERY Tactic? And Crystal Chronicles?

The original Tactic and the “reboot” of it on PSP (Full title being FFT: War of the Lions) were both amazing (and basically the same game). The Tactics Advance games were TERRIBLE.

Tactics is still the only FF I have played through and beaten over 5 times. The next closest is VIII at 2 times. I admit I haven’t beaten 6, 7, 10, X-2, 12 or 13… I get too lazy (I get so I want to complete ALL the side quests before beating the game, and that gets stressful and tiring). Though both 12 and 7 I have been really close.

Crystal Chronicles was a fun little game to play with friends, but certainly not amazing. Basically just Diablo done in a cartoony way by Square.

        • DDDDavo says:

Every Tactic, as far as I know, yes. The original, the PsP Remake, and Advance 1 & 2. Advance ones were good for passing time on the road, but definitely not good games, overall.

And no, I did not play all the CCs. Just the original. It was fun, but like you said… Certainly not amazing.

Notice I did say Major releases. There was a few handheld FFs that came out, that I didn’t give much time to (If any at all in some cases) and I think there was a couple genericos on like the Wii or something I never looked into, either.

Good point. I “tl;dr’d” your post and missed the “major” word. Cheers!

And yeah, there was a bunch of side job garbage that held the FF name but nothing else. There was even that Chocobo Dungeon one or whatever the crap it was.

*Claps* Couldn’t agree more (aside from the X-2 point, but YMMV).

I’m betting you didn’t play the original FF3 on NES, that thing sucked bad. (although i played it on an english translated NES emulator years ago) you probably played the remake on DS, which was pretty good. 4 = US 2, which was good, 5 i still haven’t played although i have the PS1 version never bothered trying it. Also i see later you replied you played 1 and 2 on advance. Final Fantasy 1 on NES was epic, closest thing to it when it came out was dragon warrior. FF1 was great for it’s time. Final Fantasy Mystic Quest on SNES was another one that i never did play, heard it sucked. From the standpoint of someone who has played Final Fantasy since 1 was new, the entire series is awesome, although there are things i don’t like about 13, and 14 is just garbage.

Admittedly, I did play the Advance remake for that one. I looked for an original copy, but couldn’t find one in english ( I don’t know if they even made one in english?).

I did indeed play the first of the series on NES way back at it’s release. The 1 and 2 on advance I was referring to was FFT A1 and FFT A2. I do however have the copies of the actual FF1 and FF2 on advance, but never bothered to play them as I had already put in work on the originals way back in the day. I bought them mostly for my children, so they could get into the series.

Mystic Quest, in my opinion, was actually a really good game, however very VERY easy, especially when compared to the others of the series at that time, which were very time consuming.

        • DDDDavo says:

I also want to correct, from my original post, that I do have a copy of FF3 on advance, but it is not part of my “Unopened” collection. I didn’t waste the time buying 2 copies of it, as I had with all the others, because it was simply a handheld remake of the original and didn’t seem as important to have in my collection.

FF6 was way better than 13 imo. In 13, you push the joystick forward….fight…….forward…fight…..the end.

I thought FFX was terrible myself, the characters just annoyed me.

    6, 4, 7, 2, 8, 5, MQ, 11, the rest …

    never played 9, btw

Final Fantasy III (US) for Super Nintendo, there exists no RPG I have spent more time playing. I wish they’d remake FFVI before VII… All these young rapscallions these days think FFVII was the be all end all; Sephiroth ain’t got nothing on Kefka.

    • Repost says:

I need to dust off my DS and play FFVI again… I never got that far in to it… mostly because I’m not too fond of mobile gaming. But it is the only way I have to play VI, unless they’ve released it on PS or Xbox downloads…

      • Mishri says:

FFVI is available on PS1, if you can find it, which you can play on a PS2 or some PS3s.

      • DDDDavo says:

I was craving some oldschool RPG action not too long ago… I had to get my fix outside of mobile gaming, too. If you’re familiar with it, and don’t mind the minor glitches that you may run across (truly nothing too terrible), just go DL a Super Nintendo Emulator and get yourself the FFIII Rom. Sit back on your computer and enjoy the show (or game =D ). It’s the same thing as VI for the most part.

    • lulz says:

You know you got a point. Sephiroth was confused, Kefka was just batsh*t insane. I just like Sephiroth more because of the giant sword. Oh and you can replace the latin lyrics with stupid stuff :D

    • Zebobz says:

I completely agree! I’ve been waiting (impatiently) since I got the FFIV remake for DS for a FFVI remake. FFVI is more deserving and has waited too long for a remake.

I thought it was good >.>

XIII’s gameplay really sucked, but I admit I enjoyed playing it solely because the characters are so PRETTY.
I didn’t get into it, though. I felt a lot for the characters in X, for example, whether it was hate or love or whatever, but the characters in XIII? An empty, if exceptionally pretty, package. Just like the rest of the game.

  42. mymoon says:

in most cases gameplay and graphics are inverse proportioned. much of the old games had to have great storyline to hold the interest while the newer ones should have great visuals. I never liked the battle system of the square rpgs but i played most of them anyway. Too many random encounters for me. Chrono trigger & chrono cross are the greatest games that came out of square.
